The information contained within should not be considered fully accurate and/or complete.

Herblore Habitat is the most recent addition for training Herblore, Farming, and Hunter skills. It was released on 24 November 2010. Participating in this minigame requires a minimum of 54 farming, 70 hunter, and 54 herblore. It is highly recommended to have at least 56 construction to avoid spending large sums of money. If you do not have the construction levels required to build the habitats, talk to Papa Mambo and select the 'Build' option. You will need to do this each time you change the habitat without the required construction level. It can cost up to 80,000 gp.

  • Note: You can request assistance from players with the required levels. They will not get the xp, but you will be able to build the habitat you need for free.

This game is unique in that it allows a person to train all three skills at the same time and is the only free Herblore training in the game aside from Dungeoneering.

You must talk to Papa Mambo to get started. Make sure to bring money to purchase supplies. To get there, you must head for the south-eastern most tip of Karamja. You can purchase a Juju teleport spiritbag from Bettamax in the centre of Taverly for 2000 coins to get there faster, or you can teleport to Shilo Village with the Karamja Gloves 3. From Shilo Village just exit the village and walk a bit to the east near the shore and climb over the vines to get inside.

Areas

There are areas separated into 4 camps by the vines.

North Camp

File:Papa Mambos Shop.jpg

Shop Inventory

  • Papa Mambo's shop. All the critical supplies you require can be purchased from Papa Mambo (except for hatchets, needed to clear tree space)
  • The cauldron, which is just east of Papa Mambo, is a water supply for both vials and watering cans.
  • Hunting area, flower trapping only.

Middle Camp

There are 5 patches with specified names , providing places to plant seeds for bushes, trees, vines, and herbs. There is also a patch where you can build an Environmental feature. A combination of all these patches will attract different vine creatures giving more variety to making potions, herbs, and even finding more. An additional herb patch can be found on the island to the east.

The correct combinations for attracting god-related jadinkos change weekly. However, all other jadinkos always have the same combinations. Upon catching at least one of each Jadinko (excluding God Jadinkos), Papa Mambo gives you a Witchdoctor top or bottom (Random) and your choice of exp in Farming, Herblore, or Hunter. When you have caught all jadinkos, including the God jadinkos, Papa Mambo will give you the Witchdoctor Mask and your choice of exp in Farming, Herblore, or Hunter.

South Camp

  • Tracking and flower trap hunter area
  • Deposit-only bank far south

East Camp

  • Access the hunter area where the God Jadinkos spawn when the correct combination is used by climbing up the root on the east side of the compost bin.

Farming

Farming in Herblore Habitat is the most important skill to the activity. Without the minimum requirement of level 54, the flowers which attract the most basic Jadinko cannot be planted, thus there will be nothing to hunt, and therefore no ingredients to make potions.

See Herblore Habitat/Farming for more information.

Jadinkos

Main article: Jadinko

Jadinkos are the creatures to be hunted in Herblore Habitat. 10 of them are caught by trapping with a Marasamaw plant, with a withered vine as the preferred bait. 3 of them are tracked with a noose wand. All of the jadinkos have certain preferences that allow them to be caught. 3 of the jadinkos are named after gods and their preferences change every week, and are different for every player.

See Jadinko for more information.

Construction

Construction plays a role in Herblore Habitat. The jadinkos have certain preferences that allow them to be caught. One of these preferences is an environmental feature. You do not gain construction experience for building the habitat, but it uses no materials, and you don't need a saw or hammer. If your construction level is too low to build the feature, Papa Mambo will build it for you, at a price.

See Herblore Habitat/Construction for more information.

Potions

Main article: Juju potion

Potions can be made out of the many items collected while hunting and farming. Each has a unique ability.

  • All juju potions must be made in special Juju vials obtained from Papa Mambo.
  • Of the various juju potions, only 6 types can be stored with the Tool leprechaun at Herblore Habitat -- and they must be 3-dose vials. They are: Juju hunter potion, Juju farming potion, Scentless potion, Saradomin’s blessing, Guthix’s gift, and Zamorak’s favour. The others can only be stored in your bank.

See Juju potion for more information.

Rewards

If you catch at least one of each Jadinko in one week, the shaman will tell you to come to him to receive your reward. The amount of xp earned is equal to twice as much xp you would get for turning a pair of shattered heart rocks.

The formula is , where x is the skill level.

Witchdoctor robes

The first time you catch all of the normal jadinkos at least once, you will get Witchdoctor legs or Witchdoctor robes.

You will recieve the Witchdoctor mask when you've managed to catch all of the god jadinkos at least once. The xp amount you receive after finding all 3 God jadinkos is equal to the amount of xp you get from turning in a pair of strange rocks. You get 12680xp for finding all normal jadinkos then you get 6340xp for finding all 3 God jadinkos at 81 Hunter.
