Plague's End is the ninth quest and finale of the elf series. It is a grandmaster quest and requires completion of Within the Light, Making History and Catapult Construction, in addition to level 75 in eight skills (and 40 Smithing, 50 Thieving. 75 Fletching, 75 Ranged and 75 Woodcutting, which are requirements for previous quests in the series). It has been released prior to Prifddinas, and one of its rewards is access to the city.[3] The Dark Lord, the Iorwerth Clan, King Lathas and the Plague of West Ardougne are plot points dealt with in the quest.[4]

Official description

ā€œ Lord Iorwerth, head of the Iorwerth elf clan, has a new plan to summon the Dark Lord, a being with the power to re-grow the elf city of Prifddinas as an Iorwerth-only city. Help Arianwyn put a stop to this plot by gathering the elders of Prifddinas and re-growing the city before Iorwerth can. ā€

Enemies to defeat

Infiltrating the Iorwerths

Arianwyn chathead

Items required: full set of Mourner gear (gas mask, mourner boots, a mourner cloak, mourner gloves, mourner top and mourner trousers)

Speak to Arianwyn, and he says that the dwarves have cleared the rock-slide in the Corridor of Light, so we can sneak inside and try to find out what Lord Iorwerth is up to. You'll need to get a set of mourner gear to disguise yourself as a Deathguard, or a Mourner. An easy way to get the mourner gear if you've lost it, is to teleport to the world gate with your Sixth-Age circuit, run east to the gate and kill one of the mourners (can also use the Eagle's Peak lodestone or The Book of Char teleport and run south).

Relieving the guard

Relieving Iestin's guards.

With the mourner gear in your inventory, speak to Arianwyn again, and he will teleport with you to the Corridor of Light. If you speak to the Dwarf here, he will give you a Report he found on a dead elf, written by Iestin, who hopes to see Prifddinas restored to its former glory.

Enter the door at the west end of the corridor to emerge in a storeroom, then the next door, where the Deathguard captain will demand to know what you were doing in the storeroom (if you answer any questions incorrectly, Arianwyn will teleport you both back to the Corridor of Light). Say that you thought you saw a mouse, that it might have gotten into the food stores, and that you didn't tell her because you knew she was busy. She tells you to relieve the guards in the room to the west, who are guarding the archaeologist Iestin Edern.

Speak to one of the guards, and they will leave. Speak to Iestin and he will ask one of you to take his report to the Mayor of Prifddinas. Arianwyn tells you that you should go while he remains on guard, and you also should try to find out more about Iorwerth's plan. Iestin's report says that he will be able to regrow Prifddinas soon, but he could be able to work faster if he knew the overall plan, particularly what power source Iorwerth intends to use.

Prifddinas elf camp

The camp inside Prifddinas, under the control of the Iorwerths.

Take the stairs to the north, and you will arrive inside Prifddinas, where you will find Starving elves and Mourners. Go north into a building and speak to the Mayor. The Iorwerth master plan is on her desk, but she won't let you look at it. She asks you to check up on her lunch order, a shipment of gnomish foods from Arposandra.

Head south to the gnomecopter, talk to the mourner standing in front of three starving elves and tell him the mayor wants him to distribute the food between everyone. Then go back to the mayor and tell her the food is being distributed by the guards; she will leave and this will give you the ability to take the master plan. Then head back to Iestin and give him the master plan.

Uprising in Ardougne

Go through all the chat options with Iestin Edern and Arianwyn will tell you to go to Bravek in the civic office in West Ardougne, north of the church, and to Councillor Halgrive in front of the East Ardougne church. If you don't have weapons and food with you to defeat a few mourners (level 33 up to the level 100 head mourner), pick them up while in East Ardougne.

Speak to the Councillor, and he will be shocked by your story, but will believe you due to your reputation. He will give you a proclamation that will give you control over the East Ardougne army, but he tells you you need to get in control of West Ardougne first, as it will not be much good against the mourners.

Speak to Bravek on the upper floor in the West Ardougne Civic Office, and he will reveal that he suspected the Plague was a hoax all along, and that it was fairly obvious for someone inside the city, but he didn't speak up about it as he didn't want to "catch the plague" himself. While he is unable to help you himself, he gives you a list of people to convince to start an uprising (you MUST remove your mourner mask before talking to them):

  • Ted and Martha Rehnison - In a building north of the civic office
  • Jethick - East side of the town square
  • Nurse Sarah - In the larger building southwest of the church
  • Carla - In an open area, north of the graveyard, wearing purple clothing
  • Koftik - Entrance to the Underground Pass. Though Koftik also appears within the Underground Pass, you must speak to him outside the cave in order to have the proper dialogue.
  • Elena - Found in the house just west of the log balance in the northern part of East Ardougne.
Attack on the Mourner HQ

Attacking the Mourner HQ.

Talk to all of them in any order, then meet up with them in the West Ardougne church. In the church, talk to any one of the seven. If you haven't spoken to Councillor Halgrive yet, they will inform you that you have to get the cooperation of the council and to speak to him. Halgrive will give you a proclamation and informs you to hand it over to the king's armies. Return to the church and speak to any of the seven, go through all of the chat options, finally starting the revolution!

Bring weapons and food and go to the mourners' HQ (northeastern corner), kick in the door and kill all of the mourners on the ground floor. Continue through the trapdoor in the northwest corner and kill all the mourners. Once you defeat the head mourner, after asking some questions, you can choose to kill or spare him. Should you choose to spare him, he will reappear in Prifddinas after the end of the quest.

Fighting Sir Hugo

Battling Lathas's guard, Sir Hugo.

When the mourners are defeated, Elena will give you a flag; replace the flag on top floor of the mourners' HQ with it and Sir Hugo and Sir Edmond will arrive. Show them the proclamation from the Councillor and, after arguing about what to do next, they will go back to the castle. Get some food if you need to and go to the East Ardougne castle, talk to Sir Edmond near the entrance, get up to the throne room and kill Sir Hugo (level 107) guarding King Lathas. Talk to the king and decide to let him live or die. Then go back to Iestin Edern with either Arianwyn's teleport or the hole near the east gate of Prifddinas.

Iestin and Arianwyn will tell you that regrowing the city is the only option to stop Iorwerth, and you need to find and gather the eight elders. Iestin will reveal that Arianwyn is Lord Cadarn, and that he can fill in for Lord Iorwerth, meaning you only need to find six others.

Finding the Six Lost Elders

Gwir chathead

Go back to Lletya and talk to Gwir (north of the bank) about the lost elders. Gwir will tell you to get a book from the bookcase near her. Read it, and you will discover it contains various riddles that give clues as to the whereabouts of the elders. Ask Gwir about each of the elders for more clues as to their whereabouts.

Lady Ithell

Required: 10 magic logs
Lady Ithell put her soul into her greatest work.
Lady Ithell chathead

When asked about Lady Ithell, Gwir reveals that she was the one who built Lletya, and that she died shortly after finishing it. You must now find five symbols carved into the wood around Lletya. The symbols are small and blue. Note: If you are on low detail, then the symbols are very difficult to see. For some of the symbols, you may have to rotate your camera angle.

The symbols are located:

Building the Ithell statue

Building the statue of Lady Ithell.

  1. On the ground floor of the main building, inside the bank, east of the stool.
  2. On the ground floor, on the inside of the southern wall of the building south of the well.
  3. On the ground floor on the inside wall of the archery shop.
  4. Climb up the central stairs. The symbol is on the outer north wall of the altar building to the east. It is quite close to the bench, on the lower corner of the wall.
  5. Go back down the stairs, and go to the clothes shop in the northwest corner. Climb up the stairs, and the symbol is in the southwest corner of the room.

After inspecting all the carvings, you will discover that they form a design for a statue in the center of Lletya, built using 10 magic logs.

Head to the center of Lletya and you will find a hotspot. Build the Ithell statue, and Kelyn will talk to you from the main balcony and ask you to come upstairs. When you speak to her, she will explain that she is from the Ithell clan, and that on looking at the statue, she gained some of Lady Ithell's knowledge, and has become her successor. Tell her that it is time to regrow Prifddinas, and she will go to Prifddinas Undercity.

Lady Trahaearn and Lord Amlodd

Mining Well of Voyage

Mining the cracked wall.

Required: Rune bar, combat equipment and food; Empty pouch, 200 spirit shards, one each of gold, green, crimson and blue charms.
Lady Trahaearn journeyed south from the well.
Lord Amlodd sleeps the sleep of the uncalled.
Lady Trahaearn chathead
Lord Amlodd chathead

When you ask Gwir about Amlodd, she will give you an Amlodd charm. The well referenced in the clue is the Well of Voyage, found at the Tirannwn entrance to the Underground Pass. If you have the Fang of Mohegan, you can teleport directly to the Well of Voyage once per day. Otherwise, exit Lletya to the northwest, step-over the tripwire west of the dire wolves, pass the dense growth to the west, jump over the leaves to the north, run to the east and enter the cave entrance. Once inside the cave, use the summoning obelisk to create the Amlodd pouch, summon the pouch and Lord Amlodd will appear. He will tell you that he was in the Spirit Realm with the other spirit creatures. Tell him that it is time to regrow Prifddinas, and he will go to Prifddinas Undercity. Then head east to find the Well of Voyage.

Go southwest of the well to find a cracked wall. Mine it, and you will discover a new cavern.

Fighting the Trahaearn automatons

Fighting the automatons guarding Lady Trahaearn.

Inside, you will be attacked by three Trahaearn automaton, one for melee, one for ranged, and one for magic. Although they use abilities, they are fairly easy to defeat. Once defeated, inspect Lady Trahaearn on her chair in the south of the room. You will discover that her exoskeleton is broken, and that it can be repaired using a rune bar.

Once fixed, she will float out of her chair, and thank you for repairing her exoskeleton, which she reveals is necessary to keep her alive in her advanced state of aging. Tell her that it is time to regrow Prifddinas, and she will go to Prifddinas Undercity.

Lord Crwys

Required: Plant cure or 1 astral rune and 8 earth runes
Lord Crwys's brothers call to him when they are wounded.
Lord Crwys chathead

Cutting any regular trees in the Isafdar forest will cause yellow lights to stream towards the direction of Lord Crwys, but they will disappear after a couple seconds. The lights lead to an area near the Tyras Camp. Teleport to the Tirannwn lodestone and go west through the dense forest, north across a tripwire, then into the dense forest. On the way, you pass patches of red and blue Isafdar mushrooms for Lady Meilyr's task, which can be picked up. If you did not enquire Gwin about Lady Meilyr yet, you will not have received the recipe and you will not have the option to pick the mushrooms.

Just before passing through the last tree of the dense forest, there is a nearly-dead tree on the west side that can be inspected. If the inspect option is not visible yet, try to chop down a nearby tree first. Use a plant cure potion on it and the tree will transform into Lord Crwys. Alternatively, travel to Port Tyras through a charter ship, head north from the Tyras Camp, head east, and head south into the same patch of dense forest.

Crwys will tell you that he turned into a tree to escape Iorwerth, and that he was sick due to the corruption of the Poison Wastes by Arposandra, and due to the Dark Lord growing in power. Tell him that it is time to regrow Prifddinas, and he will go to Prifddinas Undercity.

Lady Hefin

Lady Hefin walked westward on the water.
Lady Hefin chathead
File:Poison Wastes Path.png

A map of the path through the Poison Wastes.

Gwir reveals that the Poison Wastes used to be a lake, and that the riddle likely refers to them. You will need to cross the Poison Wastes to find her, passing through a small maze of rocks. To gain access to the maze, head west out of Lletya through the tree gate, then south past the dire wolves and magic trees, and at last jump onto the rocks. Continue to jump over the rocks and islands until you reach an Elf Hermit, see the map to the right for the correct path.

Traversing the Poison Wastes

Traversing the Poison Wastes.

You will eventually reach a small tent with an Elf hermit, although she denies being Lady Hefin. Ask her about Seren, and she will tell you about her, and then ask you some questions about what she just said. Answer the following:

  1. Seren's faithfulness to the elves
  2. The symmetry of crystals
  3. I don't know.

She will then reveal that she is in fact Lady Hefin, and is impressed by your willingness to learn about Seren. Tell her that it is time to regrow Prifddinas, and she will go to Prifddinas Undercity.

Lady Meilyr

Required: Super defence (3), red Isafdar mushroom, blue Isafdar mushroom
Recommended: Ring of Kinship
Lady Meilyr brewed a map in the dungeon of the kin.
Lady Meilyr chathead

When asked about Lady Meilyr, Gwir will give you a Meilyr recipe. Read the recipe and you'll see that to make the potion, you need to add ground red and blue Isafdar mushrooms to a super defence (3). The mushrooms can be found by passing the moving tree gates northwest of Lletya, and going a short distance south towards the magic trees. Both types of mushrooms can also be found by the lodestone.

Meilyr's hideout

Lady Meilyr's secret dungeon.

Grind the mushrooms and then add them to the potion to make a 3-dose Meilyr potion. Head to the castle above Daemonheim, which is the "dungeon of the kin" referenced in the clue, and drink the potion in the main hall on the ground floor. A portal will appear (just north of the bank) that will take you to a small room within Daemonheim, with Lady Meilyr found within.

She will reveal that she and the other elves discovered Daemonheim during King Baxtorian's campaign, and that she is there to study its rare herbs while hiding from Iorwerth. Tell her that it is time to regrow Prifddinas, and she will go to Prifddinas Undercity.

The Library and the Dark Lord

Plague's End Hining

General Hining is informed.

General Hining chathead

Return to Lletya and have Arianwyn take you back to the Prifddinas Undercity, where all the elders have assembled. Arianwyn will tell you go to the Tyras Camp and to try and convince General Hining to attack Lord Iorwerth's army so you'll be able to perform the ritual undisturbed. Travel to Port Tyras (teleport to the Catherby Lodestone and then a charter ship) and talk to General Hining. He will agree, being ecstatic that it will finally be over and he and his men will be able to go home. Go back to Lletya, bank for gear and food (fire-based mage is recommended) and speak with Arianwyn to teleport back to the undercity.

Speak to Arianwyn, he will tell you to enter the library. Do so and you'll find a light puzzle. You will have to activate the eight seals protecting Prifddinas, by guiding light onto the Prifddinas seeds with mirrors, which means you must do a light puzzle 8 times, once for each Elder crystal. Some mirrors will already be placed and cannot be rotated or removed (they have a pink reflective area instead of white). These puzzles can easily be done if you start in the middle and work your way toward the activated crystal. You cannot point the light through full beams. Also, each mirror can only be rotated in two directions. The layout of blocking pillars and raised plinths changes after each puzzle. The image solutions below all use the initial Cadarn layout.

Warning: There is currently a glitch that if you die during this fight your grave may appear inside of Prifddinas before you have access, and will be uninteractable by other players even after it disappears. However, your gravestone should normally appear either in Lletya or next to the Eastern gates to Prifddinas, depending on from where you last entered the under-city of Prifddinas.

Cadarn

Great Library - Cadarn

The solution to the Cadarn puzzle

Start with the Cadarn crystal, controlled by Arianwyn, which is the southern crystal on the east side.

1. Place a mirror on the first plinth to the west. Face it north.
2. Put the next mirror on the second plinth north of the first. Face it west.
3. Put the third mirror on the second plinth west. Face it south, into the Seal of Seren.
4. Go back to the Cadarn seal and activate it.

Trahaearn

Great Library - Trahaern

The solution to the Trahaearn puzzle

Two shadows will appear, which Iestin theorizes to be minions of the Dark Lord. As they only have 100 life points, they should go down in just one hit, although note that they can deal over 800 life points of damage per attack. Once they are defeated, move on to the second seal, Trahaearn, the eastern crystal on the south side.

1. Place a mirror on the plinth directly north. Face it east.
2. Place a mirror on the plinth one east. Face it north.
3. Place a mirror on the second plinth to the north. Face it west.
4. Place a mirror on the first plinth west. Face it south, into the Seal of Seren.
5. Go back to the Trahaearn seal and activate it.

Iorwerth

Great Library - Iorwerth

The solution to the Iorwerth puzzle

A greater shadow and three shadows will appear. The shadows are exactly the same as previously, although the greater one is much stronger, possessing 9,000 life points and a max hit of over 900. Nevertheless, they are still relatively easy to defeat. Once defeated, head towards the Iorwerth seal on the southern side of the room.

1. Place a mirror on the first plinth to the north. Face it west.
2. Place a mirror on the next plinth west. Face it north.
3. Place a mirror on the northernmost plinth. Face it east.
4. Place a mirror on the easternmost plinth. Face it south.
5. Place a mirror on the next plinth south. Face it west.
6. Place a mirror on the next plinth west. Face it south.
7. Go back to the Iorwerth seal and activate it, into the Seal of Seren.

Ithell

The Dark Lord
Dark Lord chathead

The Dark Lord himself will now appear, alongside a greater shadow. He will introduce himself, and reveal that he is borderline obsessed with death. From this point in the quest, you now have to fight the Dark Lord in between each puzzle. The Dark Lord attacks using magic, and has an area of effect attack not unlike that which Dawn uses, which rapidly harms you for 10% of your maximum life points each hit. He signals this attack by raising his left arm in the air (similar to the animation when you use the Wrack mage ability), whereas he will pull both arms towards his right side and shoot a blast at you for his regular attack. He will start off the battle with his AoE attack, then alternate between his regular attack and his AoE attack while you are attacking him. Due to the frequency at which he uses this attack, melee is not recommended over ranged or magic. As he and his minions are weak to fire spells, magic is recommended over ranged. As he and his minions use magic, the protect from magic or deflect magic prayer or curse is recommended.

Fighting the Dark Lord

Fighting the Dark Lord between one of the puzzles.

A simple strategy to defeat him is to keep moving around the arena, casting spells at the Dark Lord in short intervals. This allows avoiding the majority of the area of effect attacks, although be careful when clicking around the area as it's easy to accidentally click and attack one of the other shadows thus keeping you in one place long enough to get hit by the area of effect attacks. When the Dark Lord has been defeated for that round, you can kill the remaining Greater shadows one at a time by moving into their respective corner and attacking them from there. A Regen Bracelet can be used to heal between rounds to save food.

If you hide behind the light-emitting crystal platform you may get the chance (particularly on later waves) to attack the Greater Shadows while being blocked from the Dark Lord's attacks. This can allow you to build up adrenaline to use more powerful attacks against the main boss.

It is possible to bank between rounds, HOWEVER you must leave at the start of each battle, not after it ends, otherwise you will be forced to redo the fight for that round all over again. Logging out will return you to Lletya, so that is a good way to not waste teleports. Once you have banked, return to Arianwyn in Lletya and ask to be teleported back to the undercity, run through the Library door to begin the fight at the beginning of the round you left in (if you defeat the Dark Lord during wave 6, but do not complete the light puzzle before leaving, you will have to fight the Dark Lord for wave 6 again). If you run back towards the Library door into the corridor, you will not be attacked and can also log into the lobby to be returned to Lletya and restock.

If you die, your gravestone will be placed either in Lletya or next to Eastern gates to the Prifddinas, depending on from where you last entered the under-city of Prifddinas.

The Puzzle
Great Library - Ithell

The solution to the Ithell puzzle

Once the Dark Lord and his minions are defeated, move on to the Ithell seal on the south-western side of the library.

1. Put a mirror on the first plinth east. Face it north.
2. Put a mirror on the first plinth north. Face it east.
3. Put a mirror on the first plinth east. Face it north.
4. Put a mirror on the first plinth north. Face it east.
5. Put a mirror on the second plinth east. Face it south.
6. Put a mirror on the first plinth south. Face it east.
7. Put a mirror on the first plinth east. Face it north.
8. Put a mirror on the first plinth north. Face it east.
9. Put a mirror on the first plinth east. Face it south.
10. Put a mirror on the first plinth south. Face it west, into the Seal of Seren and the Dark Lord.
11. Go back to the Ithell seal and activate it.

Amlodd

Great Library - Amlodd

The solution to the Amlodd puzzle

Lord Amlodd will reveal that directing the beam of light towards the Dark Lord at the end of the last puzzle harmed it, meaning that by restoring Prifddinas you will defeat it once and for all. The Dark Lord and two greater shadows will once again attack you. Defeat them using the same strategy as before.

Once defeated, head towards the Amlodd seal on the western side of the Library, just north of the Ithell seal.

1. Put a mirror on the first plinth east. Face it north.
2. Put a mirror on the first plinth north. Face it east.
3. Put a mirror on the first plinth east. Face it south.
4. Put a mirror on the third plinth south. Face it east.
5. Put a mirror on the second plinth east. Face it south.
6. Put a mirror on the first plinth south. Face it east.
7. Put a mirror on the second plinth east. Face it north.
8. Put a mirror on the first plinth north. Face it east.
9. Put a mirror on the first plinth east. Face it north.
10. Put a mirror on the second plinth north. Face it west, into the Seal of Seren.
11. Go back to the Amlodd seal and activate it.

Hefin

Great Library - Hefin

The solution to the Hefin puzzle

Lady Hefin will reveal that her ancestors sealed the Dark Lord within the Temple of Light, and that it is a darkness that Seren warned them about when she shattered herself into crystal. It was attracted to the power of the Death Altar due to its fascination with death. The Dark Lord and three greater shadows will attack, using exactly the same mechanics as the previous fights.

Once defeated, head towards the Hefin seal in the north-western side of the library. This time two mirrors - the ones directly south and south-west of the seal - will already be in place and unmovable. These two mirrors force the beam into a spiral.

1. Put a mirror on the north-east corner plinth. Face it south.
2. Put a mirror on the south-east corner plinth. Face it west.
3. Put a mirror on the south-west corner plinth. Face it north.
4. Put a mirror on the north-west corner plinth. Face it east (into the fixed-position mirror).
5. Go south of the fixed mirror. Place a mirror on the plinth. Face it east.
6. Place a mirror on the plinth to the east. Face it north.
7. Place a mirror on the plinth to the north. Face it west.
8. Place a mirror on the plinth to the west. Face it south.
9. Place a mirror on the plinth to the south. Face it east.
10. Place a mirror on the plinth to the east. Face it north.
11. Place a mirror on the plinth to the north. Face it west.
12. Place a mirror on the plinth to the west. Face it south, into the Seal of Seren.
13. Go back to the Hefin seal and activate it.

Meilyr

Great Library - Meilyr

The solution to the Meilyr puzzle

The Dark Lord will summon and kill Lord Iorwerth to obtain more power, relishing his death, and describing the death of him and King Lathas as delicious. It will also reveal that it was he who gave the elves magic and extended their lifespan, claiming that he is in fact Seren. He and three greater shadows will then attack you once again.

Once he is defeated, move on to the Meilyr seal on the north-eastern side of the library. There are once again two fixed mirrors in this puzzle. The first is directly to the south of the seal, the second is just south of the Seal of Seren and Dark Lord. Ignore the southern fixed mirror.

1. Put a mirror east of the northern fixed mirror. Face it south.
2. Put a mirror on the plinth to the south. Face it west.
3. Put a mirror two plinths to the west. Face it south.
4. Put a mirror on the next plinth south. Face it west.
5. Put a mirror two plinths to the west. Face it south.
6. Put a mirror on the third plinth to the south. Face it east.
7. Put a mirror one plinth east. Face it south.
8. Put a mirror one plinth south. Face it east.
9. Put a mirror on the fourth plinth east. Face it north.
10. Put a mirror on the second plinth north. Face it west.
11. Put a mirror on the next plinth west. Face it north.
12. Put a mirror on the next plinth north. Face it west, into the Seal of Seren.
13. Go back to the Meilyr seal and activate it.

Crwys

Great Library - Crwys

The solution to the Crwys puzzle

The Dark Lord will reveal that he is an aspect of Seren, cast out by the other parts of her when she shattered herself at the end of the God Wars. He will also reveal that he was the source of the voices in the Underground Pass, and that the deaths of King Lathas and Lord Iorwerth are what allowed him enough power to manifest in the library. He will then attack you for the final time, claiming that the soul of a great hero will be a delicacy. This time he has four greater shadows and several lesser shadows alongside him, making him slightly more difficult than previously.

Once he is defeated, move onto the eighth and final seal in the north-eastern side of the library. There are many fixed mirrors in this puzzle. The first is directly west of the Crwys seal, facing north.

1. Place a mirror on the plinth north of the first fixed mirror. Face it east.
2. Place a mirror on the plinth to the east. Face it north.
3. Place a mirror on the plinth to the north. Face it west, at a fixed mirror.
4. Follow the fixed mirrors around. Place a mirror on the plinth between the Crwys and Cadarn seals. Face it south.
5. Place a mirror on the south-east corner plinth. Face it west, at the fixed mirror.
6. Place a mirror on the plinth directly north of the Trahaearn seal. Face it west.
7. Place a mirror on the south-west corner plinth. Face it north, to the next fixed mirror.
8. Place a mirror on the plinth north of the Iorwerth seal. Face it north, towards a fixed mirror..
9. Place a mirror on the plinth next to the Ithell seal. Face it north.
10. Place a mirror on the north-west corner plinth. Face it east.
11. Place a mirror on the plinth one-diagonal from the north-west corner. Face it east.
12. Place a mirror on the plinth next to the Hefin seal. Face it east.
13. Place a mirror on the plinth between the Hefin and Meilyr seals. Face it south, into the Seal of Seren.
14. Go back to the Crwys seal and activate it.

Prifddinas restored

Dark Lord's death

As Prifddinas is restored, the Dark Lord is finally defeated.

With all eight seals restored, the light will finally destroy the Dark Lord and the city will start regrowing. Arianwyn and the other elders will thank you, and reveal that this time the city will be different, allowing all races inside and not just elves, and that he will be happy to see you inside Prifddinas once it is restored. He will want to give you 15 items; if you don't have enough room in your backpack, he will open a bank deposit screen so that you can make room for these items, after which you can speak to him again to claim your reward.

Congratulations! Quest complete!

Rewards

Plague's End reward

Note: If you lose any of the reward lamps for any reason, you will not be able to re-obtain them.

Entering Prifddinas

The first time you enter Prifddinas, after crossing the guards at the entrance, the elven clan leaders will be waiting for you, lining your path to the gates of the city. Lord Amlodd, Lady Hefin, Lady Ithell, and Lady Trahaearn will stand on one side; Lord Crwys, Iesten Edern, and Lady Meilyr will stand on the other. As you pass by them, each will say something kind to you, which could be any of the following:

  • May Seren guide you.
  • Peace be with you.
  • Prifddinas is growing!
  • Rejoice!
  • See you in the city.
  • Thank you for everything!
  • We are as one.
  • We are home!
  • Welcome, friend of the elves.
  • Welcome, human!

You can optionally talk to any of them directly. Lord Amlodd, Lord Crwys, Lady Hefin, Iestin Edern, and Lady Ithell thank you for all you have done for the elves and sing your praises; Lady Meilyr invites you to explore the elf city to your heart's content; and Lady Trahaearn advises you to "hurry along" so that you won't miss seeing the growing of the Tower of Voices.

At the front gates, the last elven clan leader, Arianwyn, will be waiting for you. He will greet you warmly as a friend, tell you that you have come at the right time, and to come watch the fruits of your labour. At that point, a cutscene will enfold, which shows the Prifddinas growing. The elves who were frozen in time as the city was reverted to seed form spring to life and are found everywhere around the city. The Tower of Voices rises, and you see a peak of different parts of the city. At the end, you may walk into the city gates. Arianwyn will stand at the gate until you walk inside, and then teleport away to his usual location in the Cadarn district of the city. Prifddinas music tracks will unlock, and the city is now yours to explore.

Post-Quest FAQ

Trivia

Plague's End head banner
  • Plague's End requires the highest levels in Dungeoneering and Summoning of any quest.
  • When asking Gwir for information on Lady Hefin she mentions that there are legends of holy people walking on water. This is most likely a reference to many examples of religions where people are said to be able to walk on water.
  • When you have summoned Lord Amlodd, he talks about the Spirit Realm. What he's describing ("Ah, the Spirit Realm The realm of pure animal forms of which this world's animals are merely shadows!") is basically Platonic idealism.
  • King Lathas dies anyway even if you choose to spare him, with the Dark Lord claiming to have killed him. This has been confirmed as intentional by Mod John A.
  • On release, completing the quest made no message appear in the player's Adventure log. This was changed in an update.
  • The message in the Adventure log says: "I ended the plague of West Ardougne and activated the Seal of Seren in the Grand Library of Prifddinas."
  • After the quest, all Mourners in Ardougne and West Ardougne will be replaced with Knights of Ardougne. These knights have different drop tables, and cannot be pickpocketed. Also, the mourners in the Arandar Pass will be replaced by elves.
  • Oddly, at the end of the quest the player must make space for 15 reward items, though they will only receive 14 items.
  • The 10 lamps rewarded at the completion of Plague's End are complemented by the 6 lamps received for doing various tasks in Prifddinas. Together they give 50,000 experience in each of the 16 clan related skills. However there is one exception, Melee XP lamp. This lamp will give 50,000 experience in either Attack or Strength or equally divided on both skills.
