Rune equipment

Rune equipment is het tweede beste (maar wel het beste equipment dat niet kapot gaat) equipment dat beschikbaar is voor free spelers. Het is sterker dan adamant equipment, maar zwakker dan corrupt dragon equipment. Rune equipment heeft een lichtblauwe kleur. Vroeger werd er wel eens gezegd, vooral door free spelers, dat rune equipment eigenlijk te duur was. In de loop van de jaren daalde de prijs van rune equipment echter drastisch, zodat vandaag de dag de meeste free spelers het wel kunnen kopen. Velen hebben zelfs genoeg geld om een van de duurdere varianten van rune equipment te kopen, zoals trimmed, gold-trimmed, gilded, heraldic of armour in de kleuren van de goden.

Wapens

Rune wapens zijn de sterkste wapens die niet kapot gaan die door free spelers gebruikt kunnen worden. Corrupt dragon equipment en gravite weapons zijn sterker. Om rune wapens te kunnen dragen is 50 Attack of Ranged vereist (behalve voor de rune cane, waar slechts 48 Attack voor nodig is).

Armour

Een speler die het volledige rune armour draagt.

Rune armour is het beste armour dat niet kapot gaat dat free-to-play spelers kunnen dragen, en het op een na beste armour van de standaard metalen (van bronze tot dragon). Om Rune armour te kunnen dragen, is 50 Defence nodig (55 voor rune berserker shield en rune spikeshield). Voor de Rune platebody is ook nog de Dragon Slayer quest nodig. Een volledige set kost ongeveer 130.000 coins, wat een uitstekende verdediging geeft voor zijn prijs. Rune armour is de beste keuze voor warriors die net level 50 defence hebben, of free spelers die er voor kiezen om geen corrupt dragon armour te dragen.

Ornamental armour

Rune armour heeft net als black en adamant armour een paar speciale versies, zogenaamd 'ornamental armour'. Er is een trimmed, een gold-trimmed en een gilded versie, evenals vijf heraldic versies en armour in de kleuren van elke grote godheid (Saradomin, Guthix, Zamorak, Armadyl, Bandos en Zaros (Ancient)). De meeste van deze armours zijn ook beschikbaar voor free spelers: (m) naast de naam duidt aan dat enkel members het armour kunnen dragen. Ornamental rune armour heeft exact dezelfde bonussen als gewoon rune armour en er is ook 40 Defence voor nodig om het te dragen. Om de platebodies te kunnen dragen, moet ook de Dragon Slayer quest voltooid zijn.

Weetjes

• Alle god armour, trimmed armour en gilded versies van rune hebben exact dezelfde stats als normale rune; het enige verschil is de kleur.
• Spelers kunnen rune armour niet trimmen, net zo min als ander armour. Dit was een veel voorkomende scamming methode voor de trade update.
• Als je aan een Christmas cracker van de 2001 event trekt, krijg je een party hat en een willekeurig stuk rune armour. De party hats, (nu 200M+) werden vaak weggegooid omdat runite armour op dat moment miljoenen waard was.
