The 2011 Hallowe'en event, Deathcon II, was released on 17 October 2011. The event consists of three puzzles that have to be solved and features Living on Borrowed Time as the emote reward and a Deathcon t-shirt and hourglass as item rewards.

First, talk to Frank to the west of the clan camp. He will tell you about the Deathcon and how he needs your help. Go through the large portal to the east of Frank with the Lanyard he gives you. Next follow the path to where you see a moving statue named Beauty. Talk to her and she will tell you that you must set up statues as decorations. Below is the instructions for each person and their statue

Pestilence (Skeleton Statue), Frank (Glacor Statue), Death (Green Dragon), Famine (Giant Spider), War (Demon Warlord)

  2. (Northeast) - Frank (Glacor Statue)
  3. (East) - Death (Green Dragon)
  4. (Southeast) - Famine (Giant Spider)
  5. (South) - War (Demon Warlord)

Horses moves like knights in chess except he cannot jump over obstacles. The best way to do this part is to plan ahead from each firework. You have to stand "land

Talk to Death in the R.I.P. Tent. He will remember you from last year and give you your reward: A Deathcon II T-Shirt, Hourglass wielded as a shield, and the "Living on Borrowed Time" emote. The emote requires 3x6 space to use.

Trivia

  • Beauty is using Italian phrases in her speech
  • When speaking to Beauty, she will say that War is "good for absolutely nothing". This is a reference to the song "War" by Edwin Starr.
  • Con stands for convention, and much like a real-life con there are cosplayers cosplaying Death and one of the rewards is a T-shirt, much like con T-shirts handed out at real cons. They are wearing older Hallowe'en reward costumes, such as the skeleton set, the witch costume\warlock costume, or the Grim reaper hood.
  • The Noticeboard mentions Saturday the 29th of October as important and that there will be a special event in the Hall at that date.
  • The "Living on Borrowed Time" need 3x6 space to do it while facing north (you will automatically always face north whenever you do this emote). After doing this emote, your character will say "Phew! Close call.".
  • The Title "Deathcon 2" is a reference/joke towards U.S "DEFCON 2" which is the state of readiness for war. DEFCON 2 being the "Next step to nuclear war".
  • When reading the message board, you can see that Bob the Jagex Cat has posted a
    Death's message board

Bob's post is in the center, under Death's unreadable message.

message, but it's been covered up by other posts. It becomes partly visible after doing the event, when it shows that Bob lost Unferth, and asks anyone to find him to return him to Burthorpe.
  • The names 'Death', 'Pestilence', 'Famine', and 'War' are the names of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, referenced in the last book of The New Testament of the Christian Bible. This is more obvious due to the fact that, when you command the chicken with these words, it's name is, in fact, "Horses".
  • You can teleport away from the Deathcon II citadel, while you can't teleport away from a normal citadel. This is mainly due to the fact that the Horsemen's citadel is not an instance shard world.
  • This is the first time Diango has appeared in the area where a Hallowe'en event takes place. He was involved in the 2006 Hallowe'en event, but he did not appear in his haunted workshop then, whereas here he is actively involved in the Deathcon II citadel. Also, if you talk to him, your character will ask Diango if he wants any punch (he politely refuses). If you give him some punch anyway, he will say "That's mighty thoughtful of you, friend, but this salesman's still got plenty of spit. Maybe later."
  • Pumpkin pete can be found in the pumkin patch found east of Diango, by searching the pumpkins. He is possibly referencing what will happen on 29th of October.
  • The song DCII Mash-up (infinity mix) is a edit of the song playing in the mile high club in Just Cause 2 the game.
