The Abandoned Burthorpe mine is an abandoned mine once inhabited by Dwarves. It was abandoned for unknown reasons, and is now home to a number of Mountain trolls. As its name suggests, it is found in Burthorpe, north of the Troll Invasion minigame. The cave is filled with Troll brutes to the west, Troll chuckers to the north and Troll shamans to the east.
Corporal Boothe with his store Burthorpe Guard Quartermaster can be found just next to the entrance to the cave, selling some basic equipment with which to fight the trolls. There is an inaccessible entrance at the end of the cave. Examining it gives the message "It's too dangerous to go deeper."
It was formerly involved in the Troll Warzone tutorial, and was the original location that Morningstar was fought. Although he is no longer fought there, his bones can still be found there by players who have defeated him.
Inhabitants
- Corporal Boothe - A member of the Imperial Guard Quartermaster Branch who sells basic equipment and is willing to purchase items dropped by the trolls.
- Troll shaman - level 2 troll mages.
- Troll brute - level 2 troll meleers.
- Troll chucker - level 2 rangers.
Trivia
- For two weeks after an update on 9 June 2014, several sections of the cave were height mapped, inclining up to 20 tiles. This was caused by Mod Labl negletcing to revert his "tests"[1]
