Achievement Diaries contain a list of cities and regions in RuneScape, each having four sets of tasks to complete. The first diary was released on 8 May 2007. With the exception of the Lumbridge Diary, the Achievement Diaries are for members only, as many tasks involve members' skills or quests.
To start a diary, players will need to talk to the NPC found near the Achievement Diary icon File:Achievmentdiary.PNG on the minimap. To access the Achievement Diary journal, players should click on the green star icon File:Achievment diary logo.png in their interface. Doing this will bring up a list of cities each with available tasks, broken down into five categories, from the beginners' to the elite tasks.
The cities outlined within the Achievement Diary are colour-coded the same way as quests in the Quest list.
Once a task level under a city is selected, the task journal is displayed showing a list of tasks required to complete that level.
When a task is completed, players will be informed in the Chat interface, and that particular task will be struck out in the journal. Once all tasks in a category are completed, the heading (e.g., "Easy") will turn green.
Players completing all tasks in a particular category (e.g., Easy tasks) will be rewarded with Experience lamps and other benefits available only to those who have completed the tasks. All level 1 tasks also reward the player with a wearable item with special properties and completing level 2, level 3 and level 4 tasks will upgrade the item (requires the player to have the item in their inventory to upgrade it).
The easiest tasks usually do not require any skill levels to complete, but the elite tasks usually require high levels in a particular skill and/or in-depth knowledge of a particular area within RuneScape, such as TzHaar Fight Caves.
There currently is no Achievement Diary Tutor, although many NPCs, such as Sir Vant, have mentioned one.
List of Achievement Diaries
There are seven Achievement Diaries at the moment:
