Ancient artefacts are artefacts from the Third Age that players can obtain as drops from revenants in the Forinthry Dungeon or the Chaos elemental. According to Mandrith, as the blood of warriors is spilled, as it once was during the God Wars, artefacts of that age feel the call to battle and are drawn into the rays of the sun once more.
These can then be traded to Mandrith in Edgeville bank or Nastroth in Lumbridge Castle's courtyard for a sum of cash determined by the type of artefact. Be aware that they will not accept it if it is noted.
The value of the artefact, and the combat level of the revenant, determine the drop rate. For example, a high levelled revenant is more likely to drop a broken statue headdress than an ancient statuette.
As revenants can only be found in the Wilderness, players are advised to bank any valuable artefacts immediately due to the risk of player killers.

Trivia[]
- Before the return of the Wilderness, these artefacts were obtainable from killing players in a PvP or Bounty Hunter world and only a few were for Free to play players (up to Armadyl statuette). This was changed on 1 February 2011.
- Some artefacts are placed incorrectly in the tile the drop is usually put in. For example, statuettes of all types, the ruby chalice, Saradomin statuette, Saradomin amphora and Third age carafe are put into one corner of that tile. The Armadyl totem, Guthixian brazier, Zamorak medallion, Bandos scrimshaw, Ancient psaltry bridge, bronzed dragon claw and broken statue headdress are put in the middle of the tile.
