Ascension shards are received from killing monsters in the Monastery of Ascension. 100 shards are required to receive an Ascension crossbow, along with a Dragon crossbow and all six ascension signets. At level 90 Fletching they can be fletched into Ascension bolts.

• Fletching Ascension shards into Ascension bolts is one of the fastest methods of training Fletching in RuneScape, having rates of over 400,000 experience per hour albeit at a high cost.
• The update on June 24th, 2013 increased the buy limit of Ascension Shards you can buy every 4 hours on the G.E. to 10,000.
