Augmentor detail

An augmentor is a device used in the Invention skill to create augmented items. It is unlocked at level 2 Invention, which is reached during the Invention Tutorial which also requires players to research it. Discovering it yields 250 Invention experience.

Players can attach an augmentor to an item, turning the item into an augmented version, yielding 50 Invention experience. Gizmos can then be attached to the augmented version of an item. Weapons can be augmented at level 2, body armour and shields at level 16, tools at level 22, and leg armour at level 45.

Augmentation is reversible with an Augmentation dissolver, although it fully degrades any degradable item, but the augmentor is destroyed in the process. Augmentation is also removed in the Wilderness from items when they drop on death.

Augmentors were made tradeable with the update of 18 September 2017.
