Auto-sanctifier detail

The auto-sanctifier is an Invention device that is part of the dwarven tech tree. It requires 55 Dwarven Currency and level 70 Invention to unlock. It is a consumable device with 50 charges that increases the Prayer experience gained from burying bones and scattering ashes to 3.5 times the normal experience (examine text incorrectly states 250%), giving the same experience as a gilded altar with two burners lit. Like altars in chapels, this bonus is multiplicative, not additive. Each bone buried or ash scattered consumes one charge. Once all charges are used, the auto-sanctifier is destroyed.

The auto-sanctifier works in conjunction with the bonecrusher and attuned ectoplasmator, but will not stack with the additional experience granted by the Dragon Rider amulet or Prayer brawling gloves; the effect is also cancelled if either item is equipped (charges are not used and wasted in this situation).

The auto-sanctifier does not need to be equipped for its effect to be applied; it can be either in the inventory or worn in the pocket slot.

Trivia[]

  • Auto-sanctifier used to require 8 pious components on its creation, and it would have had only 10 charges, but this was altered on 5 September 2016 to rebalance the usefulness of this item.
  • For a short time after 5 September 2016, the auto-sanctifier didn't work when burying or scattering items from the inventory. This has since been fixed.
