Automaton Generators are powerful magic-based opponents created by the Cres, Guardian of Guthix, to protect Guthix's chamber.
They can be found in the central room of Guthix's Cave after the completion of The World Wakes, The Firemaker's Curse, Ritual of the Mahjarrat, The Chosen Commander, Branches of Darkmeyer, and The Void Stares Back. They require level 67 Slayer to be harmed and are known for their various mid-priced stackable drops and their very rare glove drop.
Generators are recommended for low budget characters, due to the cheaper availability for the level 80 ranged weapons.
Players should be aware of the monster's special attack, which does a pulsing area of effect damage around the automation at regular intervals, but freezes the monster in place (it can still perform regular auto attacks while the special is active). This can quickly do 2,500+ damage if multiple pulses contact with the player. This special has a medium-sized area of effect and is easily avoided by attacking at maximum range.

Strategy[]
Level 80 weaponry is highly recommended; any lower will sharply cut profits. Soul split, Penance aura, prayer recover items, and food is necessary due to its accurate attacks. Alternatively, use of a Unicorn Stallion's Healing Aura scrolls and a healing Ultimate ability (Rejuvenate or Guthix's Blessing) would allow players to stay indefinitely, although bringing a few pieces of emergency food is advisable.
Anguish, Turmoil, and Torment significantly increase damage when fighting this monster, as the monster has high combat stats in all areas (Anguish provides the correct bonus against its weakness).
Other conveniences include: the quest reward Sixth-Age circuit, providing a quick teleport back to the area; and Solomon's General Store pet variants, which automatically loots the plethora of stacking objects.
