This article is about a camp in the Wilderness. For the camp in the Kharidian Desert, see Bandit Camp (Kharidian Desert).

The Bandit Camp is an outlaw stronghold located in levels 17 to 24 Wilderness. It contains many high level Bandit Brawlers that will become aggressive if the player is unskulled, thus it is recommended to skull yourself by talking to Mr Ex in Edgeville prior to entering the camp.

Entry[]

Bandit Camp (Wilderness) entrance

The entrance.

The Bandit Camp can be entered from three ways: the south, the west, and the east. To enter from the south, the player must walk from levels 17 to 19 Wilderness along a narrow pathway with lava on either side. To enter from the west, the player must go through a small opening just past the northern edge of the western strip of lava. The safest entrance is from the east, where there is a break in the wall. This entrance is guarded by two giant rats, and one of them is of the aggressive level 6 variety.

The Bandit camp is a very hostile area; there are level 118 Bandit Brawlers, who will attack players on sight if they are not skulled. They can use highly damaging abilities, including stuns and binds, and can quickly take down even a well-equipped player in seconds. It is highly recommended that the player have Mr Ex skull them in Edgeville or have an augmented item with the Committed perk equipped before proceeding inside.

The camp[]

Although little information regarding this camp has been released, it is led by Black Heather, Speedy Keith and Donny the lad, who have the highest combat level of the camp at 138.

Most of the camp seems to have been destroyed; many of the buildings are falling apart. It is possible that this is the remains of a fortified city destroyed during the Gielinorian God Wars, as many other ruins located in the Wilderness are; the bandits may have found and populated its ruins.

The Bandit Camp has several features, some of which are required for the Wilderness Tasks.

Features[]

Bandit Duty Free[]

Main article: Bandit Duty Free

The bandit camp general store, owned by Noterazzo, is one of the few places to obtain bloodweed seeds, in addition to various items such as materials to create tier 90 power armour. Notterazzo's shop is unique in the fact that he charges less than other places; for example, buying the Stone of binding from the Magic Guild will cost the player 500,000 coins, while Notterazzo himself will charge the player 450,000 coins. The player will need to be skulled in order to use his shop though, or he will refuse to sell items to them. Opening his shop while skulled completes the medium Wilderness task Notatrivialtask.

If players talk to Notterazzo about his store buying at high prices, he will say that the tax collector does not tax his store. Since the Grand Exchange update, however, the prices seem similar to those in the Piscatoris Fishing Colony, more favourable than regular general store prices but none of the stores will pay high alchemy price, and all decrease their purchase price as the player items increase.

Occasionally, Postie Pete can be found in the store, doing a "secret mission for the Burthorpe Imperial Guard".

Wilderness Cape Store and Wandering Bank[]

Neil sells Wilderness team capes ending in the number 7. He is located in (or near) the remains of the building next to the General Store. He is one of the wandering bankers that can be located in the wilderness and can be easily accessed via the western entrance of the camp.

Tony's Pizza Bases[]

The camp has a kitchen to the north, which contains tomato and cheese respawns. It is also home to an outlaw named Fat Tony, who had to flee Misthalin after he was accused of attempted regicide by poisoning the King's food. The bandits protect him as long as he continues to make pizzas for them.

Tony will sell pizza bases for 4 coins each. This, coupled with the respawns in the room (30 seconds respawn) and the range in the kitchen, means that a player with adequate funds could buy and make pizzas here. They could then be sold to the general store and the money used to continue to buy pizza bases. Creating an Anchovy pizza by scratch in the Bandit Camp and giving it to Fat Tony is a medium Wilderness task A Pizza the Loot.

The major drawback is the slow respawn time of the tomato and cheese (30 seconds-1 minute), and the possibility of PKers dropping by. If the player finds himself/herself in a PK situation, or is in need of more ingredients, he/she can always change world.

As there is also a small net fishing spot and a giant rat respawn nearby, a player could add meat or anchovies to the pizza, provided that they have the required Cooking level.

Trivia[]

Bandit Camp concept art

Concept art of the camp

  • When entering the camp on the small split of land between pools of lava, the bandits say "You shall not pass!" if you are not skulled. This is a reference to Lord of the Rings.
  • The dead trees around the camp used to give charcoal when cut down.
  • Legion used to be the main theme of the Bandit Camp before it was changed to Troubled.
