Walkthrough

Start point	Speak to Rantz, in eastern Feldip Hills.

Requirements	Skill requirements are not boostable unless marked with a [B] for boostable. 30 Cooking 30 Ranged 5 Fletching Ability to defend against level 42 wolves and level 96 ogres for short periods of time
Items required	Items from the tool belt are not listed unless they do not work or are not automatically added. Feathers (100+ to be safe, 25 can be bought during quest for 50gp) 4-6 wolf bones (can be obtained during the quest)
Recommended	Ring of duelling Gnome glider network Dramen staff or Fairy Tale III completed (Fairy ring aks - fastest way to start) Armour, weapons, and food (recommended if you're a low level as there are level 42 Wolves to be encountered) Ranged armour otherwise accuracy of shot damage will be considerably reduced
Enemies to defeat	Chompy bird (level 2) Wolves (levels 16, 23, 42) (optional)

Getting Started

• Talk to Rantz east of Feldip Hills. ( 3•✓)…

  3	Ok, I'll make you some 'stabbers'.
  ✓	[Accept Quest]

  • Note: Buying Ogre Arrows from the Grand Exchange will NOT work.

Fletching Some Arrows

• Chop down two Achey Trees.
• Use a knife on the logs.
• Use feathers on the ogre arrow shafts.
• Obtain some wolf bones. There are some wolves just south-west of Rantz, by the swamp.
• Use a chisel on the bones.
  • The arrowtips must NOT be bought from the Grand Exchange.
• Use the wolfbone arrowtips on the shafts.
• Use 6 ogre arrows on Rantz.

Bloated Toads

• Ask Rantz all possible questions. ( 1•2•3•4•5)…

  1	How do we make the chompys come?
  2	What are 'fatsy toadies'?
  3	Where do we put the fatsy toadies?
  4	What do you mean 'sneaky..sneaky, stick da chompy?'
  5	Ok, thanks.

• Enter the cave north of Rantz.
• Talk to Fycie and Bugs.
• Unlock the chest in the north-west corner and search it to receive ogre bellows.
• Exit the cave and run a short distance south-west to the swamp.
• At the swamp, stand near the swamp bubbles and fill ogre bellows. Left-click bloat swamp toads, so that you have 2 bloated toad in your inventory.
  • It's recommeneded that you collect 3 in case a chompy bird does not spawn.

Hunting

• Talk to Rantz.
• Drop a bloated toad where the arrow points.
• Return to Rantz and talk to him.
• After Rantz fires his bow, talk to him to receive an ogre bow. ( 2•1)…

  2	Come on, let me have a go...
  1	I'm actually quite strong...please let me try.

  • Alternatively, you can kill the same chompy bird, if it has not left.
• Place another toad in the clearing.
• Kill the chompy bird that appears with the ogre bow.
• Pluck the carcass and take the raw chompy.
• Talk to Rantz.

Cooking the Bird

• Go back into the cave and talk to Fycie and Bugs.
• Obtain the ingredients that they ask for and use the raw chompy on the spit-roast north of Rantz.

Ingredient	Location
Onion	To the west of the swamp where you get the bloated toads, planted near the tomato on a stool, there's a fire and some ogres, right around there. You need to pick them from the ground, because they don't appear on the minimap.
Doogle leaf	West of onion spawn, in between the fungus (red dot on minimap).
Tomato	West of the swamp on a stool, in the same area as the onions (red dot on minimap).
Cabbage	On the ground, not too far from the tomatoes.
Equa leaf	You can get this south-east of Rantz, east of the place you placed your toad for the bait. Equa leaves are small and green so sometimes they can be hard to see, a way to get around this is to use the red dots on your minimap to pin point the location of the equa leaves.
Potato	You can pick a potato from a potato plant south-east of Rantz, right beside the equa leaf.
