Yanille's Watchtower Wizard

Items needed: No follower, 5 free inventory spaces
  • Go to the Watchtower just north-west outside the wall of Yanille and talk to the Watchtower Wizard on the top floor. (Chat 1~1)
  • You'll be given a memory wand. Keep the wand for the rest of the quest, do not destroy it.
  • Use the wand on the 4 floating objects.
  • Catch all the loose memory fragments.

The Assault on the Red Axe

Barendir entrance location

The entrance to the Barendir tunnels.

  • Enter the Barendir caves south of west Keldagrim and then enter the cave to the far north. The caves can be accessed by selecting "Travel" on the Dwarven Boatman or Dwarven Ferryman.

Veldaban of the Red Axe

Items recommended: Combat equipment
  • Kill Grunsh or let him go.
  • Enter the eastern doorway and go up to the 1st2nd floor[UK].
  • Try to open the door with the chaos dwarf behind it.
  • Talk to one of the directors. (Chat 4)
  • Kill 7 of the 8 directors.
  • Talk to the remaining director.
  • Go upstairs to the top floor of the palace.

The Final Confrontation

Items needed: No follower
Items recommended: Magic combat equipment and food

Warning: If you place your Dominion Marker during the first phase of the fight you will lose it.

  • You can teleport out at any time. When you return, the fight will resume from after the last person you killed (Grimsson, Chaos Grimsson, or Chaos Hreidmar).
  • Talk to Grimsson and begin the fight.
  • Kill Grimsson.
    • Use the Provoke ability when he is attacking Veldaban to make him attack you instead. If Veldaban dies, you will respawn outside the cave and need to re-enter and try again from the start.
  • Kill Chaos Grimsson.

Rewards

Birthright of the Dwarves reward
Additional rewards/activities
  • A further 250,000 Mining experience in chunks of 20,000 to 33,000 experience, with requirements ranging from 81 to 95 Mining, when mining the ruins north of West Keldagrim. Boosts do work to mine ruins that are beyond your current level.
  • If Veldaban survives, the player can offer to use the memory wand to restore his memories of Hilda. He is initially reluctant, afraid of how much he may have made up about her but, if the player encourages him, agrees. He doesn't share his revelations, saying that it's between him and her memory, but thanks the player for doing so. Veldaban can be found in the throne room above the Trade Octagon or in the Laughing Miner Pub on the east side of the city, depending on the player's choice.
