Black full helmets are horned helmets made of the black metal. Level 25 Defence is required to wear black full helms. The black full helm has roughly the same bonuses as a white full helm. These helms can be bought at Valaine's Shop of Champions (no base stock) on the 1^st2^nd floor^[UK] of the Champions' Guild, Peksa's Helmet Shop in Barbarian Village, or Horvik's Armour Shop. Black full helms can also be received as a possible reward from an easy clue scroll.

Before an update in April 2010, black full helms were relatively hard to come by, with the Grand Exchange price generally staying at or near the maximum value. That update added several creatures that dropped them to what had previously been a short list, increasing the supply and lowering the price.

As with all black equipment, this item cannot be made from raw materials using the Smithing skill.
