She was created by Kerapac, who implanted black stones onto a dragon from Vicendithas' old batch. The dragon also had a sister dragon; her whereabouts are unknown. The dialogue during the fight and the dragonkin research diary suggest that the black stone implants allowed Xau-Tak to influence her, which corrupted the dragon into her current form. After an accident which saw the destruction of another specimen, Kerapac sealed her away in the laboratory, for fear of her extremely uncontrollable nature.
The black stone dragon has two 100% rolls: one for the unique items (onyx dust, codex, pet, energy) and another for common drops (uncut gems and bolt tips). For clarity, the two tables are separated.
^Rolled if the codex, pet and energy drop fails; only in group encounters since solo encounters guarantee draconic energy.
^4-8 guaranteed when defeating the boss in a solo encounter, with a hard cap of 110 energies, with the higher amounts of energy being significantly rarer. In group encounters, there is a 3/10 chance for 1-20 energies, with the higher amounts of energy being significantly rarer. This only drops if the codex or pet drop is not rolled.
^Has a drop rate of 1/500 in group and 1/200 in solo encounters. Highest priority in the drop table.
^Has a base drop rate of 1/300 (solo encounters) or 1/1,500 (group encounters), with a threshold of 60 for solo encounters and 300 for group encounters. Rolled if the codex drop fails.
Not a Moth ( 20) - Defeat the Black Stone Dragon without taking damage from any shadow flames.
Four in Hand ( 10) - Defeat all 4 black hands, within 10 seconds after defeating the first, during the Black Stone Dragon fight.
Trivia[]
The existence of the black stone dragon was first hinted at on release of the first elite dungeon, Temple of Aminishi. After releasing Seiryu from Xau-Tak's control, his dialogue refers to "another sharing his torment...under the obliterated crust of Forinthry."
