The book switcher is an Invention device in the dwarven technology tree that allows the user to switch between different spellbooks, regular prayers and the ancient curses. It is consumed on use and can only be used in safe areas, such as banks.
Discovering this device requires the player to have the blueprint unlocked from the dwarven technology tree, level 60 Invention and 1325 inspiration for "Perfect!" optimisation. Success in creating the blueprints earns 32,284.5 Invention experience.

Trivia
- On 16 May 2016, the requirements for unlocking the ability to manufacture book switchers was changed to level 60 Invention and 35 Dwarven Currency from its initial 78/98 Invention requirement.[1]
- Book switcher used to require 1 enhancing component on its creation, but this was removed on 5 September 2016 to rebalance the usefulness of this item.
