A botanist's amulet is made by enchanting a jade amulet with the Lvl-2 Enchant spell. While the amulet is worn, there is approximately a 5% chance to brew a 4-dose potion instead of a 3-dose potion while training Herblore. It is made with 5 charges, and one charge is used when a 4-dose potion is created.

When brewing overloads, the botanist amulet saves 30,259 coins each time it activates, for an overall saving 146,259 coins per amulet. Given the 5% activation chance, one can expect to consume a full amulet in 100 potions - making 305 doses of overload from 300 doses-worth of supplies. This reduces the average cost of a 3-dose overload from 121,051 coins to 119,588.41 coins.

The amulet can be used in conjunction with at least three pieces of the factory outfit, modified botanist's mask, Morytania legs 4 (for prayer renewals), and portable wells to further reduce costs.

If the amulet activates while a portable well or modified botanist's mask grants an additional potion, you will end up making two 4-dose potions.
