Brawling gloves (Melee) (also known as Melee brawling gloves) were introduced with the PvP worlds update. They are obtained as a drop from Revenants, the Chaos Elemental or from the Rare drop table.
The gloves provide 50% bonus experience whilst training on any of the Melee skills (Attack, Strength and Defence). In addition, the gloves provide 300% bonus experience if players train while in the Wilderness. The gloves last for around 300,000 combat experience, and disintegrate after the player receives all this bonus experience.
For example, if a player would normally gain 40 strength experience from a monster, they would gain 60 experience, and in the wilderness they would gain 160 experience.
Places to train in the Wilderness with the gloves could include:
- The Pirates' hideout (50+ thieving recommended, as it is hard to pick the lock(s) sometimes)
- Deadly red spiders
- Lesser demons
- Greater demons
- Ice giants
- Ice warriors
- Moss giants
- Earth warriors
- Fire giants
- Hellhounds
- Black demons
- Forinthry Dungeon
One technique players can use for getting maximum experience output, is to go to the Forinthry Dungeon and train on hellhounds there. Using Soul Split in conjunction with a bonecrusher and any dungeoneering prayer necklace (such as the demon horn necklace, split dragon tooth necklace and twisted bird skill necklace) can be a useful method for health restoration, without having to worry about prayer. Doing this method until the gloves are fully degraded can earn anywhere between 300k-500k experience per hour while being considerably AFKable. However, players should be careful of player killers as this dungeon is in the wilderness.
