Breakdown is an Invention perk that has a 20% chance per rank to automatically disassemble items produced while smithing. Does not work when smelting ores. It can be created in tool gizmos.

When the perk triggers, it prompts the message: Your breakdown perk causes you to instantly disassemble the item.

Utilising breakdown allows the full use of a beast of burden, particularly with 1-bar items such as daggers. It is a significant time saver when the produced item is planned to be dismantled anyway - but be aware that it also dismantles high value items (e.g. malevolent armour) without warning.
