The Bucking Baroo is part of the Spring Fayre located in the north-eastern part of the crater. Riding it during the event allows players to gain Defence.
While riding, the player tries to stay on top of the machine by leaning to the correct direction by clicking the buttons on the interface (left or right). If the player fails to do so quickly enough they will fall down. One attempt takes six seconds. The player always falls after gaining experience 20 times in a row.
During a Happy Hour around 600 actions can be made.
There is a confirmation prompt about gaining experience before riding the machine that can be toggled off permanently.
Followers aren't allowed on the machine and attempting to ride it with one summoned prompts "Followers aren't allowed to ride on the bucking yak with you. Please dismiss it."
At level 99 defence, riding the bucking baroo successfully yields 118.8 Defence experience (130.6 during a Happy Hour).

Riding cost ten fayre attraction tokens per ride.
At 99 Defence 118.8 experience was given per action (130.6 during a Happy Hour), and six fayre prize tickets were awarded with around 15% chance, or one during a Happy Hour.
During a Happy Hour one could get around 90 tickets.
Attempting to ride the machine without enough fayre attraction tokens prompted the messages:
- You do not have enough fayre tokens to ride on the bucking yak. You need 10 tokens.
- You can get more fayre tokens and tickets from the stall by the Bucking Baroo.
