The following subpages are cost-analysis tables of items in the relevant disassembly category.

About[]

Items in the same disassembly category share several features:

  • They disassemble into the same materials (i.e. their analysis is the same, excluding junk chance)
  • After junk, the distribution of materials received is the same
  • However, they don't have to disassemble into the same number of materials each (i.e. 'melee bodies' give 8 materials, 'melee helms' give 6 and 'melee gloves' give 4; these are all part of the 'melee armour' category)

Thus, since the distribution is the same, you can work out which is the most cost-efficient to disassemble for materials in that category (however, comparing across categories for a specific component is a different calculator).

Example

Consider two items in the same disassembly category, giving one material each: item a, which has 0% junk, and item b, which has 50% junk. If 2 of item b costs less than 1 of item a, then it is more cost-efficient to disassemble item b than item a.

Generalised

This can be generalised to account for other junk chances, and differing material amounts. The easiest way to represent this is by calculating the effective cost per material - items with the lowest cost per material are the most cost-efficient in that category to disassemble.

The formula used to do this is:
