Not sure what other calculation errors are in this article. Could we be a little more explicit. Also the formatting seems to be a little dodgy towards the bottom of the table. Everything looks consistant, so I am not sure what is wrong? If someone want to point out the errors, they will be fixed much easier. GuitarVT 04:01, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

Also when N/A is displayed (for example for ingredients for Relicym's balm) it should be all profit, as these ingredients are collected and cannot be bought. Golduin 04:12, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

It looks like that potion prices are that of the 4-dose versions, while making them gives only 3 doses. I think that most potion prices should be multiplied by .75, but not all (for example, weapon poison is always a single dose). It's a good idea though that there are 4-dose prices in the GEMW, it should stay that way. Fejesjoco 22:08, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

On a second thought, it's a mess. For example, prayer potion 5962 gp is the 3 dose version, while super strength 3894 gp is the 4 dose version. If someone gives me the green light and makes the decision, I could clean it up because I'm training herblore atm. Fejesjoco 22:21, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Is there any intentions to update this page? IE, including 'Total cost to make' would be VERY useful, as it's just saying how much i loose per exp atm.

Sanfew Serum

I want to propose to remove the "High Demand" label from Sanfew Serum.

I have not been able to sell a handful of Sanfew Serums even at Mid price for months, which makes me highly doubt that there is a "high demand" for this item.

Guthix Balance / Sanfew serum Ingredients

Would it be more accurate to list Restore potion as the basis for Guthix balance potions? This takes into account the value of the intermediate potion. Further along the same lines, should the Guthix balance(unf) be listed separately?

• To the same end (listing separate prices for separate items) should unfinished potions be listed instead of listing the vial and herb separately? I know this last one would be far more difficult to implement, but still. Solar'spot 03:24, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

Removing demand column

This column seems extremely subjective and pov. It is not automatically linked into the RS GE database to determine the actual volume, and that would be the only way this column could be called verifiable and accurate. If you can find a factual reason to keep it, okay. Otherwise, I will be deleting it in a day or two.--Degenret01 05:35, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

Add column for factory gear

I'd like to add a column showing profit/loss if you're using both scroll of cleansing and 3 pieces of flash powder factory gear. This is what I use in my Excel spreadsheet at home, but my spreadsheet does not include GE queries.

When you make potions with three-plus pieces of factory gear, you have a chance of making 4 dose potions instead of three. I've generally seen a figure of 10% chance quoted, but my statistics point to more like 12.5%; nevertheless I'd use 10% as it's more conservative. The new column would be the same as the current last column (Profit/loss with Scroll of Cleansing) except that I'd multiply the value of the 3-dose potion by 1.0333 (= 1 + 0.10/3) while leaving the costs the same.

Any comments? Is there a preferred way to preview the new table for review? If I insert the table in this talk section for comment, will the table actually work in here?

Below is modified source code for the calculation page. It adds the new column for four different potions (Super attack, Saradomin brew, Extreme attack, and Prayer renewal). These aren't meant to be the best potions you can make, just an example of different potions which benefit a different amount from the factory gear.

I just updated to include the full table. This version of the table omits any cases (untradeable potions, result is already a (4) dose potion) where the profit/loss for the Scroll of Cleansing plus Factory Gear is the same as for Scroll of Cleansing alone. Please provide feedback as to which is preferred.

• Scroll of Cleansing
  • The Scroll of Cleansing is a Dungeoneering Reward that costs 20,000 tokens
  • It has a 1 in 10 chance of saving a secondary when mixing potions. This effect may save the herb you are mixing with a vial or water, or the secondary ingredient you are adding to an unfinished potion
  • It also has a 1 in 8 chance of mixing a potion quicker
  • Experiences per profit marked with a * may not be supported by the effect, but Jagex will update in the future
    • since torstol (unf) is far lower priced than clean torstol the price for the unf potion has been used

• Factory Gear
  • Factory Gear is a reward from the Flash Powder Factory mini-game. When you wear any three of the five pieces of factory gear while mixing potions, there is a 1 in 10 chance of producing a 4-dose potion instead of a 3-dose.

I can't correct these mistakes on the main page, because I don't understand the logic behind most of those notes. The new Magic and Ranging potions are missing.

Don't use asterisks to denote stipulations. Instead, use the ref tags as such: <ref>This is a stipulation</ref>, followed by <references /> tag at the end of the page.
