Camel Warriors (also known as Ugthanatos) are slayer creatures that require level 96 Slayer to kill. They can be found on the island east of Sophanem. They are killed for the camel staff, a level 85 staff which provides unlimited fire runes.
According to The Ugthanatos, Akthanakos created the Ugthanatos to deal with his nemesis, Enakhra. He expressed gladness at the results, as they had the traits he desired and had powerful combat skills due to giving them the ability to manipulate limbs, which regular camels did not have. The Ugthanatos worship Akthanakos, calling him the "Camel God".
Ten Camel Warriors inhabit an island slightly southeast of Sophanem. The island is accessed via an Agilityshortcut on its northern side, and has no requirements to use. The island is affected by desert heat. Completion of Icthlarin's Little Helper is recommended for the tunnel shortcut near Amascut's camp and Contact! will allow for fast banking trips.
Camel Warriors are similar to Glacors when fighting them. This means they must be killed solo. When fighting the camel, they will separate into three mirages; the blood, shadow and smoke mirage. The camel warriors themselves do not use spells from the ancient spellbook; their magic attack is a simple tornado while their ranged attack is their spit. Prayer switching is advised as they have relatively high accuracy and damage.
The mirages use magic attacks and spells from the ancient spellbook. The blood mirage heals its fellow mirages (they do not share this with mirages from other camels) for up to 950 life points for every successful attack against the player. The shadow mirage has an adrenaline bar which when filled, will cast a curse draining prayer points immensely, in addition to using a debuff that lowers the player's damage output. The smoke mirage uses a debuff that reduces their accuracy. They use all four different elements of the ancient spellbook and thus use their effects also; smoke reduces accuracy, shadow reduces damage, blood heals by 5% of the hit inflicted and ice binds for 10 seconds. It is advised to kill the shadow, blood then smoke mirages in that order.
The camel will appear again at the location of the last mirage killed. Throughout the fight with the main camel, a bar will appear above their head, similar to the shadow mirage. When this bar fills they will either use a sandstorm attack which deals 50 damage initially then doubles every tick until it disappears, or use the prayer draining curse. The sandstorm attack is signified when the camel bashes its staff into the ground. Although they are affected by stuns and binds, it is advised not to do so as they will unleash a sandstorm as well.
Bringing melee and ranged weapons is not required but advised as the camel itself is weak to melee attacks while its mirages are weak to ranged, especially thrown attacks.
