The Chaotic maul is a melee weapon released with the Dungeoneering update, on 12 April 2010. It is currently the melee weapon with the highest strength and crush bonus in runescape with 155 and 167 respectively. It requires both 80 Attack and Dungeoneering. This weapon, boasting a mighty +155 strength bonus, beats the former holder of the title of the highest strength bonus Godsword's record by 23. However, whether it is actually better is debatable. If it has the same speed as the mauls used in the dungeoneering skill, it would be inferior to the godswords in terms of damage per second. Also it does not have a special attack. At the moment, this weapon is considered extremely hard to obtain due to the fact that you need 400k tokens. At low levels, obtaining these seems almost impossible.
According to the Runescape rewards page, the Chaotic Maul is bought for 400,000 Dungeoneering tickets and starts with a 20% charge. A fully charged maul lasts for 10 hours, and once reached 0%, must be taken back to Daemonheim to be recharged (in a similar fashion to how Fist of Guthix rewards work). Alternatively, players can pay 2 million coins to have the maul recharged.
