Charming moths are a Hunter creature that can be caught barehanded with level 88 Hunter and 83 Agility. They are found on the eastern coast of the Wilderness, near to Daemonheim. Players can receive gold, green, crimson, and blue charms from catching them, as well as a chance of obtaining a crystal triskelion fragment. After the butterfly has been caught the player will release it, meaning that the butterfly cannot be kept.

650 Hunter experience and 125 Agility experience is received per catch. At level 99 Hunter a player can gain around 230,000 Hunter experience and 45,000 Agility experience an hour, along with 360 charms, from hunting charming moths. 20% additional Hunter experience can be earned if a demonic skull is equipped while hunting charming moths. Temporary skill boosts can be used to catch these moths. Catching one of these moths is a requirement for Wilderness Elite Tasks, although you can not boost to the required level to complete the task.
