Chromatic dragons are types of dragons that appear in colours. There are four kinds of chromatic dragons, with several different dragons in each kind. From weakest to strongest, based on the standard adult form, the colours are green, blue, red, and black.

|Elvarg||90||Melee Dragonfire||Nothing Bane||Elvarg's lair in the Crandor and Karamja Dungeon||Besides the dragons in Daemonheim, she is one of two dragons available to Free-to-play. She is attackable only during the Dragon Slayer quest. When slain, she drops Elvarg's head, which can be returned to Oziach to finish the quest, but is not required.|

|Melee Magic Dragonfire||Arrows Bane||Ancient Cavern||This dragon is significantly stronger than the regular Green dragon and, with its long-range magic attack, can be a threat to players in the Ancient Cavern. It drops dragon bones and two pieces of green dragonhide, along with slightly improved drops.|
|Three-headed green dragon||138||Melee Dragonfire||Nothing||Lumbridge during Learning the Ropes||A three-headed green dragon appeared in an old tutorial quest, Learning the Ropes. In said quest, Sir Vant fought this dragon but players cannot. It cannot be seen anymore, due to the disappearance of the quest Learning the Ropes.|
Unlike the other chromatic dragons, no baby green dragons have yet been seen on Gielinor, except for the green variant of the baby dragon Summoning pet and in the dwarven Power Station during the Perils of Ice Mountain quest.
|Baby blue dragon||44||Magic||Bolts Bane||Taverley Dungeon||Like all chromatic baby dragons, this dragon cannot breathe fire. It drops baby dragon bones and does not drop dragonhide.|
|Blue dragon||74||Melee Magic Dragonfire||Bolts Bane||Taverley Dungeon, Ogre Enclave, Heroes' Guild||This dragon always drops dragonbones and blue dragonhide.|
|K'klik||N/A||N/A||N/A||Zanaris||K'klik is a blue fairy dragon, the last of the fairy dragons. K'klik is encountered during the Freeing Sir Amik Varze portion of the Recipe for Disaster quest.|
During the Perils of Ice Mountain quest, a blue dragon hatchling can be seen in the power station, but players cannot interact with it.

|Baby red dragon||68||Magic||Bolts Bane||Brimhaven Dungeon||This baby dragon cannot breathe fire. It drops babydragon bones, but does not drop dragonhide.|
|Mr. Mordaut||N/A||N/A||N/A||Random event||Mr. Mordaut cannot be attacked and gives players surprise exams. Players who fail the exam are teleported to a random place, while players who pass get a reward. Mr. Mordaut was removed from the game, along with surprise exams in an update, however is now located in a room located under the stairs in the Varrock Museum Basement.|
|Tutorial dragon||Unspecified||Melee Dragonfire||Unspecified||Roddeck's cellar (only during Unstable Foundations)||During a former tutorial, new players helped a white knight kill this dragon without combat. If a new player tried to attack the dragon, they will not be able to, as the white knight helping slay the dragon did not allow them.|
During the Perils of Ice Mountain quest, a red dragon hatchling can be seen in the power station, but players cannot interact with it.
|Baby black dragon||70||Ranged||Stab Bane||Chaos Tunnels, Evil Chicken's Lair||This baby dragon does not have dragonbreath. It drops babydragon bones and does not drop dragonhide. It is notable in that it is higher level than the adult green dragon.|
|Black dragon||100||Melee Magic Dragonfire||Bolts Bane||Taverley Dungeon, Lava Maze Dungeon in the Wilderness, Evil Chicken's Lair||This dragon always drops dragonbones and black dragonhide. The draconic visage is a very rare drop of this dragon.|
|Black dragon (Dungeoneering)||Varies||Melee Magic Dragonfire||Slash||Warped floors||It is possible to effectively protect yourself against their dragonbreath with Protect from magic prayers, if you don't have an Anti-dragon shield.|
|King Black Dragon||276||Melee four types of dragonbreath (regular dragonfire, shock-like breath, ice breath, poison breath)||Nothing Bane||King Black Dragon Lair||A three-headed dragon in the game (aside from the now discontinued three headed green dragon). As with Black dragons, they share the 100% drop and the fabled draconic visage. He also has a chance to drop Dragon rider boots and gloves.|
|Queen Black Dragon||900||Dragonfire Melee Magic Ranged||Nothing Bane||Grotworm Lair||Only monster to possibly reward Dragon kiteshield and components of the Royal crossbow for killing it. Despite the name, she drops royal dragonhide.|
Counts as a black dragon for a black dragon slayer task.
|Verak Lith||1450||Melee Magic||Nothing Bane||Dragonkin Laboratory||A younger, but much more stronger version of the King Black Dragon, previously known as Flametongue. Despite dropping royal dragonhide, he counts as a black dragon for a black dragon slayer task. He has a chance to drop the Mutated Fury ability codex.|
- All chromatic dragons (apart from the Queen Black Dragon) used to only have melee attacks and dragonfire attacks. This was changed after the Evolution of Combat.
