A crushed gem is an accidental product that is occasionally made when using a chisel on an uncut semiprecious gem, such as opals, jades and red topazes. 5 Crafting experience is granted when a gem is crushed this way (3.8 for uncut opal). Gems can also be deliberately crushed by using a hammer on a semiprecious gem.
It is used during Fairy Tale I - Growing Pains to make the magic secateurs and Some Like It Cold to create costumes for Ping & Pong.
Crushed gems used to be tradeable in the Grand Exchange, however this was removed.

Trivia[]
- Previously, non-members could use a hammer on F2P gems to get a crushed gem, which was named 'Member's object'. This was later removed.
