Dagger (class 5) detail

The dagger (class 5) from the Stealing Creation minigame is made by using a piece of class 5 sacred clay on a creation kiln. It is a melee weapon that requires 80 Attack to wield and 80 Smithing to make.

Many players use this weapon to kill other players while not risking anything if they activate the protect item prayer. This is a very common tactic to deal with players with ancient magicks, because their magic robes have no melee defence and damage can quickly build up. Dagger-wielders could easily fight until they die and return to the battle again immediately as long as they have the prayer active.

Like all other Stealing Creation equipment, this item can be traded freely between players who are on the same team during the minigame.

Trivia[]

  • Previously, it was possible to smuggle items from the minigame and use them outside of it. The class 5 dagger, due to its fast attack speed and high strength and stab bonuses, was one of the most commonly smuggled items, along with the other class 5 weapons. Smuggled items were used for multiple tasks, ranging from Slayer tasks and boss hunting to staking at the Duel arena and even player killing. This glitch was fixed in a hidden update, and all smuggled equipment was removed. In addition, some of the more flagrant abusers had lengthy bans placed on their accounts, ranging from several weeks to permanent (for those who PKed or staked with the smuggled items). Finally, Jagex has also implemented a measure that causes smuggled items to disappear if used, equipped, or consumed outside of Stealing Creation in order to prevent further abuse.
