- The Dancing Donkey is probably based on the Prancing Pony inn from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.
- It is the only bar in Varrock that doesn't double as a hotel.
- As of 15 December 2009, the music heard here is "Honkytonky Medieval", which was part of an unannounced music update, which added 5 new songs to the list.
