Deflect Summoning is one of the Ancient Curses which protects from and deflects damage caused by Summoning scrolls and enemy familiars. It can also be used together with one other Deflect curse. It has a slightly faster drain rate than the Protect from Summoning prayer. It is widely considered to be useless, as few use familiars as a main direction of offence and few NPCs use Summoning. One of the few places where this curse may be helpful is in massive multiplayer Activities such as Soul wars, where many players tend to use titans, including Steel titans.

Note: As with all Deflect prayers, the Ferocious Ring doesn't work with Deflect Summoning, but this is of no importance as no monsters in Kuradal's Dungeon use summoning.

It may also be worth noting that familiars use the combat triangle to deal damage, and that praying against the point on the combat triangle that the familiar is attacking with will achieve identical results.

Trivia

  • According to the ancient hymnal, Deflect Summoning's verbal incantation is "Arceto impetum bestarium recreatorum." (I deflect attacks from beasts that were brought back to life.)
