Revision as of 11:37, 26 March 2016
This is a list of devices created using the Invention skill, as well as their requirements, components, and purpose. Devices can be created at any workbench in RuneScape, such as the one in the Invention Guild north of Falador. Players learn how to discover blueprints during the Invention tutorial.
Functional Items
Device | Level | Components | Use/Function |
---|---|---|---|
Charge pack | 1 | 100 Simple parts 100 Cover parts |
Stores Divine charges, which are consumed when using augmented equipment. |
Augmentor | 2 | 225 incandescent energy 45 Base parts |
Augmentors can be applied to a variety of tier 70+ weapons, shields, and armour. Augmented items can hold gizmos with perks applied to them, lending attributes, buffs, and debuffs to the item. Augmented equipment can also be trained through combat and then either siphoned or disassembled for Invention experience. For a list of items that can be augmented, refer to this page.
Note that any tier of Divine energy can be used to manufacture an augmentor, though the amount of energy needed is inversely related to its tier (e.g.,350 tier-11 energy or 225 tier-12 energy can be used to create one augmentor). |
Weapon gizmo shell | 3 | 10 Blade parts |
An empty shell which can be filled with materials to create perks, and then installed into an augmented weapon. Different materials can create different perks, of which some are useful (such as increased weapon accuracy), some are harmful (such as skulling the player), and some are merely curious attributes (such as receiving an occasional humorous private message from the augmented item). Up to two shells can be installed on a two-handed weapon, while single-handed weapons can only hold one. |
Divine charge | 4 | 225 Incandescent energy 20 Simple parts |
A consumable item which adds 3,000 charges to the Charge pack. Charges are used while using augmented equipment in a similar way to how regular equipment degrades through use.
Note that any tier of Divine energy can be used to manufacture a charge pack, though the amount of energy needed is inversely related to its tier (e.g., 350 tier-11 energy or 225 tier-12 energy can be used to create one pack). |
Gizmo dissolver | 8 | 1 Vial 35 Clear parts |
A single-use item which can be used to destroy a weapon or armour gizmo that has been applied to an augmented item. |
Equipment dissolver | 16 | 1 Vial 35 Clear parts |
A single-use item which destroys an augmented item, returning the attached gizmos. The item and the augmentor are not returned. |
Armour gizmo shell | 16 | 10 Deflecting parts |
An empty shell which can be filled with materials to create perks, and then installed into an augmented shield or piece of armour. Different materials can create different perks, of which some are useful (such as a 20% chance to reduce incoming damage by 5%), some are harmful (such as skulling the player), and some are merely curious attributes (such as receiving an occasional humorous private message from the augmented item). |
Augmentation dissolver | 16 | 1 Vial 35 Delicate parts |
A single-use item which removes an augmentor from a piece of equipment. If the item is degradeable, it will be returned in a fully degraded state. |
Junk refiner | 22 | 1 Rune bar 200 Junk |
Transforms 100 junk into 1 Refined component. Has a total of 11 uses before being destroyed itself. |
Tool gizmo shell | 22 | 10 Head parts |
An empty shell which can be filled with materials to create perks, and then installed into an augmented tool or a Fishing rod-o-matic. Different materials can create different perks, of which some are useful (such as an increased chance of obtaining resources), some are harmful (such as a 3% chance of dropping the resource the player just gathered), and some are merely curious attributes (such as receiving an occasional humorous private message from the augmented item). |
Fishing rod-o-matic | 22 | 1 Fishing rod 80 Flexible parts |
Functions as an augmented version of a regular Fishing rod, meaning that it uses divine charges, levels up through training, and can be either disassembled or siphoned for Invention experience (with the same experience rates as a tier-70 item). Tool gizmo shells can be installed into the Fishing rod-o-matic to grant perks. Note that the rod can only be used for rod fishing, fly fishing, and heavy-rod fishing (meaning that other methods of fishing will not grant item experience). |
Soul-in-a-box | 24 | 500 Soul rune 150 Tensile parts |
An item which can be operated to summon a Distracting Soul, which reduces the chance of being caught while pickpocketing. Souls last for 1 minute, and operation will consume 100 Divine charges. The blueprints to discover the Soul-in-a-box are a reward from the Nomad's Elegy quest. |
Urn enhancer | 24 | 500 Soul rune 100 Tensile parts |
An item which, while in the inventory, will increase the experience gained by teleporting urns by 25%, consuming 20 [[[charge pack|divine charges]] per urn. The blueprints to discover the Urn enhancer are a reward from the Nomad's Elegy quest. |
Equipment siphon | 27 | 50 Simple parts |
Resets the experience on an augmented item to zero, granting invention experience roughly equivalent to disassembling an item of two higher levels. For instance, the same amount of experience is granted by disassembling a level 10 item as is granted by siphoning a level 12 item. |
Mining accumulator | 60/80 | 1 Decorated mining urn (r) |
The Mining accumulator is essentially an inverse mining urn - while an urn fills up through successfully mining ore, the accumulator gains charge every time the player fails to get an ore from whatever they are trying to mine. Once full, the accumulator can be "studied", which destroys the accumulator and awards 2500 mining experience.
The level at which the Mining accumulator unlocks depends upon which Tech tree the player has chosen. Choosing the Dwarven tech tree causes the Mining accumulator to unlock at level 60 Invention; players who choose another path unlock the accumulator at level 80. |
Woodcutting accumulator | 60/80 | 1 Strong woodcutting urn (r) |
The Woodcutting accumulator is essentially an inverse woodcutting urn - while an urn fills up through successfully chopping a tree, the accumulator gains charge every time the player fails to chop down whatevery they are trying to cut. Once full, the accumulator can be "studied", which destroys the accumulator and awards 2500 woodcutting experience.
The level at which the Woodcutting accumulator unlocks depends upon which Tech tree the player has chosen. Choosing the Goblin tech tree causes the Woodcutting accumulator to unlock at level 60 Invention; players who choose another path unlock the accumulator at level 80. |
Fishing accumulator | 60 | 1 Decorated fishing urn (r) |
The Fishing accumulator is essentially an inverse fishing urn - while an urn fills up through successfully catching fish, the accumulator gains charge every time the player fails to catch whatever they are fishing for. Once full, the accumulator can be "studied", which destroys the accumulator and awards 2500 fishing experience. The Fishing accumulator unlocks at level 60 regardless of which path the player has taken. |
Mechanised chinchompa | 78 | 50 Red chinchompa |
Mechanised chinchompas are a stackable level 75 Ranged weapon. Five Mechanised chinchompas are made at a time. |
Book switcher | 78 | 1 Adamant bar |
A single-use item which allows the player to switch their prayer book between the Standard Prayers and the Ancient Curses. It can only be used in "safe" areas, such as banks. |
Lightbulb hat | 87 | 1 Light orb 340 Head parts |
A piece of headgear which acts as a light source and is permanently lit. |
Pogo stick | 91 | 2 Royal torsion spring 500 Tensile parts |
A level 50 two-handed melee item. Wielding the item outside of combat replaces the standing/walking/running animations with bouncing versions. |
Cosmetics
Lab coat top | 69 | 2 Fine cloth 220 Padded parts |
The top half of the cosmetic lab coat outfit. |
Lab coat legs | 69 | 2 Fine cloth 220 Padded parts |
