|Examine||An enchanted necklace.|
A digsite pendant is a Ruby necklace that has been enchanted using the Enchant Level 3 Jewellery spell. It requires the completion of The Dig Site quest to make or use. This item cannot be sold at the Grand Exchange.
Unlike most gold jewellery, this necklace cannot be enchanted until the spell has been learned from one of the archaeologists cleaning finds in the museum. To learn how to enchant a Ruby necklace, a player must first participate in cleaning uncleaned finds until a Clean necklace is found in the sample.
Finding a clean necklace is somewhat rare and may take a while (expect to clean between 10 and 100 samples in order to get the necklace, although sometimes it can take as many as 500 samples). Players must then talk to one of the archaeologists cleaning finds in the museum. They will then teach the player how to enchant the necklace to make a Digsite pendant.
When enchanted, the pendant can be used to teleport to 3 locations: the north end of the Digsite, north of the outermost fence, near the middle of the dig site with the Senntisten teleport option, or the Exam Centre, to the south of the digsite. The number of charges on an individual pendant is suffixed to the item's name. For example, an unused pendant is named "Digsite pendant (5)". When all five teleports have been used, the pendant will crumble away. Players could cast High Level Alchemy on it when only 1 charge is left to minimise costs.
It currently costs 385.6 coins for each teleport, assuming a staff of fire or equivalent is used for the enchantment.
This pendant is very useful for players wishing to quickly swap their prayers to Ancient Curses (after completing The Temple at Senntisten), as it allows quick access to the temple, while being easy to replace and mass-produce.
The pendant is also used in a medium Varrock Task.
