Disk of returning detail

The Disk of returning was used to let players exit the Black Hole in RuneScape Classic. At the time, a non-player character called Thordur sold them for 10 coins. This item is the oldest rare or discontinued item in the game, beating out the pumpkin as this disk was created back in July 2001. This item was discontinued December 2001 after the removal of Thordur and the Black Hole.

People that were banned were put into a hole and trapped there until their ban was over. A lot of people got themselves banned just to see the hole, so Jagex made a mock hole and created a disk to let players out once they went in.

The mock black hole and disk of returning were removed because of a scam involving convincing players to drop their disk while in the black hole, thus trapping them until assisted out by Jagex. The disks were left in game, but no longer had any use.

On 9 June 2010, the inventory image of the Disk of returning changed. The old image was File:Disk of returning.PNG.

Street Prices:

Recently, the Disk has hit 235m and rising. However, a suspected rise should happen due to the fact lower rares, such as the Santa Hat or the H'ween Masks, have risin in the Grand Exchange ~20% since the release of Free Trade.
