Dragon armour update

Graphically updated Template:Noseo armour and claws

Template:Noseo equipment is a range of tier-60 equipment available to pay-to-pay players, and is some of the best non-degradeable equipment in Gielinor. With the exception of dragon darts and dragon arrows, Template:Noseo items are made of a hard, dark-red metal called Orikalkum (the former being made of Template:Noseo talons). It is believed that Template:Noseo equipment was created by the Necrosyrtes, a faction of an ancient race known as the Dragonkin, and distributed to shops by the Consortium of Extra-Planar Merchandise Transferral Specialists.

Effect on the Economy

Since their initial release, Template:Noseo equipment has had a profound effect on the economy of the game. For a long time, Runite equipment was the best available to players and was highly sought-after for that reason. The introduction of the rarer and significantly-better Template:Noseo items caused Rune to permanently fall in price. Template:Noseo equipment has declined in price over time as higher-level items have become available. Many Template:Noseo items have settled at around their high-alchemy price, however some items, such as the Dragon full helm and the Dragon platebody, have remained valuable due to their rarity, cosmetic appearance, and prestige.

Weapons

Template:Noseo weapons are weapons requiring level 60 Attack to wield (or level 60 Ranged/Magic in the case of Dragon darts/arrows and battlestaves respectively). Each weapon has its own abilities and functions except for Dragon battlestaff, Dragon darts and Dragon knives. Template:Noseo weapons cannot be created by players, and are generally obtained as drops from various high-levelled monsters, though some can be bought from specific stores (and of course from the Grand Exchange or from other players). Many require the completion of a specific quest to be wielded.

Armour

Template:Noseo armour is tier-60 tank armour, requiring level 60 Defence (and, in many cases, a quest) to wear. lt is seen by many players as the next step up from the tier-50 Rune armour, although tier-55 Granite armour offers defencive bonuses between the two, despite not being a metal and consisting of only six items.

The Dragon square shield is created by combining a Shield left half with a Shield right half on an anvil, which requires level 60 Smithing. Note that the Legends' Quest has to be completed to be able to wield or make this shield. To repair the Template:Noseo platebody, level 92 Smithing is required, along with a Blast fusion hammer. There are 3 parts needed to smith the Template:Noseo platebody: the Ruined dragon armour slice, the Ruined dragon armour lump and the Ruined dragon armour shard. Players can only smith this in the Ancient Caverns, and 2,000 Smithing experience is gained for doing so. The Assist System may be used to repair the Template:Noseo platebody.

Unreleased dragon items

Main article: Upcoming updates

Template:Noseo equipment has been slowly released into the game over the last several years. At the present, the only standard weapon that does not exist in-game is the shortsword. While Jagex has confirmed all Template:Noseo items will be added to the game at some point, no release date for the Template:Noseo shortsword currently exists.

Trivia

Dragon Weapons

All Template:Noseo weapons confirmed.

  • Template:Noseo equipment has been a frequent subject of Jagex's April Fools jokes in the past. Spinning plates (a white ceramic plate with a small picture of a Template:Noseo) were released on 4 April 2005 in reply to the constant demand for the then-unreleased Template:Noseo platebody, and Toy kites were released on 1 April 2008 foreshadowing the actual release of the dragon kiteshield four years later.
  • Dragon arrow and dragon dart tips are actually made from a Template:Noseo's talons and not from Template:Noseo metal; this may explain why they are not red in colour.
  • Prior to the Evolution of Combat, Template:Noseo arrows could only be fired from a Dark bow, which had two special attacks that depend on whether Template:Noseo or other arrows are equipped.
  • Oddly, the Template:Noseo platebody requires only 92 Smithing to repair, while the Rune platebody (requiring level 50 Defence to equip) requires 99 Smithing to make and the Tetsu platebody (for players with level 85 Defence) requires only level 90 Smithing to create.
  • On 6 March 2012, Template:Noseo armour, along with many other armours, received a graphical rework.
  • Template:Noseo equipment is the only standard metal to incorporate weapons of all three Ranged, Melee and Magic attack styles.
