|Release date||Unknown edit|
|Location||Most likely Puro-Puro, but can be almost anywhere.|
|Trap||Butterfly net or magic butterfly net|
|Examine||An impling who likes the word "dragon".|
The Dragon impling is the third highest Impling that can be caught in the Impetuous Impulses activity, and are located throughout Puro-Puro and RuneScape. The player needs at least 83 Hunter (or level 80-82 with a Hunter potion) to capture this type of Impling. Capturing a Dragon Impling will grant the player either 390 (if caught in Puro-Puro) or 553 (if caught on RuneScape) Hunter experience. These are sought after by high-level hunters for the high level of profit.
After an update to Impetuous Impulses on 22 February 2010 its no longer required to use a normal, Sacred clay or magic butterfly net and some Impling jars. As you can now catch one with out a jar and net and catch it barehanded. It is recommended to use a net and jar since the net raises the probability of capture and the value of a Dragon impling jar is usually greater than the average value of loot received. Once a player has a net and impling jar the player simply clicks on the Dragon Impling, and the character will attempt to catch it, yielding a Dragon impling jar.
Because many players ignore baby or young impling when encountered, the spawn rate of rarer implings is hindered. The faster a lower level impling is caught, the faster the respective spawn point will generate a new, possibly rarer, impling. Players looking for rarer implings would do well to catch any low level implings they see in order to encourage the respawning of higher level implings.
