Dragon platelegs are a piece of dragon armour that require 60 Defence to be worn. They can only be obtained as drops from bronze dragons, iron dragons, steel dragons, or through trade (either facilitated by the Grand Exchange or with other players). They have the same bonuses as the dragon plateskirt, but cost approximately 1 times more. Due to this, many players have decided to purchase the dragon plateskirt instead, since it is a cheaper option. Dragon platelegs can no longer be gained as a drop from PvP worlds, however, Corrupt dragon platelegs can be. Some players choose to wear the Zamorak d'hide with these platelegs, as it imitates the look of the dragon chainbody. It is also commonly worn with other types of body armour such as a Fighter Torso, Rune platebody and Granite body( the latter two are considered "nooby" when paired with the legs as it shows you are poor and/or have the time and effort to get the fighter torso) by players who can't afford dragon chainbodies or dragon platebodies.

Since the introduction of the Grand Exchange, the price of this once-expensive item has dropped from a little over 2,000,000 coins (its highest) to just over 550,000 coins. It rose to around 900,000 coins, slowly dropped to 700,000 and quickly crashed to 475,000 coins, the cheapest it's ever been.

On 25 March 2009, the dragon legs were updated and now have spikes on the knees.

Dragon platelegs can be used with ornament kits to make Dragon platelegs (sp) and Dragon platelegs (or).

As with all dragon equipment, the Dragon platelegs cannot be made from raw materials using the Smithing skill. The dragon platebody and the dragon sq shield can be smithed from their component parts.

Glitches

Trivia

  • After the updates of 25 March, 2009, the graphical interface of the dragon platelegs slightly changed, by adding spikes to the knees.
  • When worn the legs have spikes on them but not when they are in the inventory or on the floor.
  • There used to be a glitch when a player was wearing dragon platelegs with the orb of oculus, the legs would stretch and touch the orb. This glitch has been fixed however.
  • As of 4 August 2010, you can obtain ornament kits for the platelegs by completing clue scrolls or buying them. These make them more decorative.
  • When standing, the spikes are on the knees though when someone is resting, the spikes appear to be on their thighs.
  • The Dragon Platelegs have experienced a dramatic drop in price from a little over 950k to a bit below 500k.
