The Dragon Square Shield (Dragon Sq Shield) is a rare piece of armour and among the best shields in the game. It is found in two halves, which can be merged by using them with a hammer and anvil if you have level 60 smithing. The Shield right half can be purchased in the Legends' Guild for 750,000 coins after completing the Legends Quest. Requirements to wield the shield are 60 defense and completion on Legends Quest. The shield left half, however, must be obtained as a rare drop from any monster that drops gems.
It is also worth noting that, being a square shield, the Dragon Sq Shield does not incude a negative magic defence bonus.

Trivia
- Vannaka, the Combat Instructor and Slayer Master, wields a steel two-handed sword along with the dragon square shield at the same time.
- It is interesting to note that, originally, the individual images of the shield's right and left halves combined would have resembled a kite shield rather than a square shield. This was eventually remedied by Jagex. (File:Lefthalf.gifFile:Shieldrighthalf.gif)
- Crafting the shield is no longer profitable due to the drop in price in the grand exchange. The left half is a very rare drop; the right half is bought with 750k coins in the legends guild. The only true purpose now would be as a personal achievement.
- The symbol matches the one on the toy kite and the symbol of the Legends' Guild.
- A image of a dragon kitshield has been posted on some image websites, this was made by joining the two old parts of the old square shieldshown above.
