[FAQ] [doc]

Dromomastyx are large, slow, dinosaur-like creatures that dwell in all tunnels under Daemonheim. Their skin is sought after for making excellent Ranged armour. Their skin is also used to make storage bags, making a higher level skin quite valuable throughout the exploration of a dungeon. There are two options for killing Dromomastyx. The first option would involve the creation of a trap out wooden materials found throughout Daemonheim. The higher the tier of logs, the higher the likelihood that the creature will be successfully caught and killed in the trap. Normally, hunting the creatures tend to yield between three and seven Dromomastyx hides. Another, more unpopular option, would involve the player killing the creature just like a normal monster through the combat system. Unfortunately, this method usually yields one hide at the most, mainly due to the fact that the skin is damaged through combat.

If under any circumstances the trap fails, the creature will wave it's head at the side of the trap with enough force to dismantle and destroy the trap beyond repair. This would require the player to gather the necessary materials to create another trap again. If these creatures are left alive in the dungeon after completion, no deduction will be made to any of the multipliers on the reward screen. The use of combat to kill these creatures also yields in no experience, so therefore, it is most commonly avoided by teams and instead hunted.

Trivia

  • Along with its other Bovimastyx cousins, these are the only creatures throughout Daemonheim to have one consistent combat level.
