Dry logs can be found by training Dungeoneering. They can be obtained by cutting dry branches from the wall in the ferret puzzle room, in order to make a simple trap.
Dry logs from different ferrets may be used to create traps in successive ferret rooms if one does not have the skills necessary to catch the ferret in the later room.
Dry logs also act as Tangle gum branches, as they can be used to create fires for cooking. However, they can only create tier 1 fires which burn food commonly, so only use them for cooking if you have no access to better logs.
