Elite tetsu katana is an untradeable level 88 main hand melee weapon upgraded from the regular tetsu katana. It is the main hand counterpart to the Elite tetsu wakizashi.

To upgrade a tetsu katana to its elite version the player needs 10 plate, 1 tetsu katana, tetsu sword upgrade kit, 92 Smithing (non-boostable) and all four parts of the "tetsu swords" eastern scroll. Making one grants 30,000 Smithing and 5,000 Crafting experience.

The katana degrades for 60,000 charges of combat before breaking. It can be repaired at a repair NPC for 2,500,000 coins, or for cheaper on an armour stand.

Repair

The base repair cost of the Elite tetsu katana when completely degraded to 0.0% item charge is 2,500,000 coins. It can be repaired by:

• Bob - the axe seller in Lumbridge
• Tindel Marchant - the weapon and armour repairman at Port Khazard
• Dunstan - the smith in Burthorpe
• Squire - in the workshop area of the Void Knights' Outpost

Alternatively, it can be repaired on an armour stand in a player-owned house, or a whetstone device anywhere. This provides a discount of 0.5% per Smithing level (including boosts).

If it is only partially degraded, then the cost of a full repair is multiplied by the percentage of item charge that needs to be repaired to produce the current repair cost.
