Molly chathead

Evil Twin was a random event, released on 22 May 2006, in which the player was teleported into an enclosed room at an unknown place by Molly. She claimed her twin sister, Moira, had been committing crimes around RuneScape, and Molly herself had been blamed for it. Although Molly was finally able to capture Moira, she was able to drag several other female bystanders with her, and now she needed the player to help her separate her from the innocent bystanders.

Moira and the other women were in a large pen on the room next to the one Molly is in, although you couldn't see what is in any one room from the other. The goal of this random event was for you to go the other room and use the controllers of a crane to choose Moira between the suspects there. There were only two chances to choose the person.

Molly's and the suspects appearance changed randomly each time the event occurred, but her sister always looked exactly identical, including her clothes. Therefore, the player must have memorised how Molly looks in order to recognise her sister (see Strategy below).

Strategy[]

Players must use a crane to grab Molly's sister

The most basic way to have beaten this event is just to have remembered Molly's hair colour (yellow, red or brown) and leg clothes type (long skirt, short skirt or trousers). Players did not need to memorize the colours of the clothes, or any other details.

There were only ever two girls with the same colour hair as Molly, and you had two chances. As the number of chances used made no difference, it was common to pick randomly out of the two girls with the correct hair colour.

An easy way to beat this event was to take a screen shot of Molly by pressing "Print Screen|SysRq" (on Windows), pasting it into Paint or a Word document and using that as a guide to pick out the evil twin. Alternatively, players could click on the door, and her head would appear in the message box. This could serve as a useful reminder.

Results[]

Success[]

Players who win would be praised by Molly and then given a random event gift.

Failure[]

If the player failed to grab the correct suspect, Molly would say: "Such incompetence! I should never have asked a baboon like you to do a complex task like this! Get out of my sight!" The player would respond with: "Err, sorry. I seem to have messed it up a little." Molly would then teleport the player to a random area as punishment.

Trivia[]

  • There was a door behind the fence in the south-west corner that couldn't be reached. If you examined the door, it would say: "The door is closed". This also happened with the door you've gone through.
  • When grabbed, the evil twin shrieks the older hit sound.
