The Explorer's aura is a reward for completing a single category during the 2015 Runescape Road Trip. Completing additional categories unlocks the higher tier aura, providing 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes active on the aura and thus time active in the cave.
Once activated, the aura will direct a player to a portal leading the player to a cave full of valuable monsters or resources, depending on the player's choice when activated. Thus, it is recommended to fully prepare for the trip before activating the aura.
A resource cave containing several herb spawns, 3 tree spawns, several grenwall spawns (as well as box trap and pawya meat spawns), a bank chest, and a deposit box.

Resource Cave
If the player chooses to enter a resource cave, they will be teleported to a private cave containing several resources, as well as a bank chest and a deposit box. When the aura expires, the player will be teleported back to the surface.
The resources that are currently known to be able to spawn in a resource cave include:
- Trees up to Magic
- Hunter creatures up to Grenwalls
- Herb spawns corresponding to the highest level herb the player can grow
- Divine Locations
