Fancy boots are obtained as a reward for completing the Stronghold of Security. If lost, they can be obtained, or exchanged for Fighting boots, from the Cradle of Life at the end of the fourth level (The Sepulcher of Death). Fancy boots provide the same defence bonuses as bronze boots and fighting boots, and cannot be dropped, only destroyed.
These, along with Fighting boots, also have the best defence bonuses of boots available to free players, although they aren't recommended to wear while maging or ranging due to the negative magic and ranged attack bonuses, -3 and -1 respectively.
Some people use these boots to match infinity robes, since they have similar colours.
According to the Items Kept on Death Interface, this item's value is 1 coin.
As with all foot-based equipment, except for the leather boots and snakeskin boots, this item cannot be made using the Smithing or crafting skill.
