A Dormant Zamorakian Ability Codex was a rare drop obtainable from Telos, the Warden. It was combined with an orb of corrupted anima, orb of volcanic anima, and orb of pure anima in order to create the Reprisal Ability Codex.
Following a hotfix implemented into the game on 6 July 2016, the Dormant Zamorakian Ability Codex was removed from Telos, the Warden's drop table and replaced with the Reprisal Ability Codex.[1][2]
This change was made in consideration of player feedback following Telos' release, predominantly in recognition of the fact that necessitating the sacrifice of the above 3 anima orbs made the Reprisal ability unnecessarily rare, especially considering the ease with which Mazcab ability codices may be used. Another matter of deliberation was the inherent opportunity cost in sacrificing the anima orbs in order to transform the Dormant Zamorakian Ability Codex into a usable variant, versus utilising them to transform a Dormant Seren godbow, a Dormant Staff of Sliske, or a Dormant Zaros godsword into their usable, charged variants.
Following an in-game update on 11 July 2016, all Dormant Zamorakian Ability Codices possessed by players were transformed into Reprisal Ability Codices.
