A fish is an item used in the quest Pieces of Hate. It is obtained by using Eric's hook attached to cloth on the fishing spot on the west coast of The Rock. It is used to lure Count Ludwig Koppenploppen into the jail and to scare away the guards.
They seem to be suicidal, as while fishing them, the player comments on how they happily jump onto the hook despite knowing it is fatal.
