Fish Offcuts are often the product when you cut open a leaping trout, leaping salmon or leaping sturgeon using a knife, to provide the player with 15 cooking experience for sturgeon and 10 for salmon and trout. A higher level fish will successfully produce offcuts more often than a lower level. Offcuts can be used as fish bait, most used at the barbarian fishing spots. If you have more than one type of barbarian bait in your inventory, the offcuts are used as bait first, then roe, followed by caviar. The roe or caviar can be used in Herblore after having been taught the Barbarian Training, adding it to a potion of only two doses.

Offcuts make barbarian fishing the fastest way of gaining fishing experience, as a player can stay at the fishing spot almost indefinitely. Though a player will not gain much cooking experience and will have to remember to bring a knife.
