A Fishing rod is an item used to catch fish through the Fishing skill. It can be bought from fishing shops around RuneScape, and can be stored on the tool belt.
In order to fish, players must have fishing bait in their inventory and at least one inventory slot to hold a fish (more inventory slots for more fishes), for every fish except Rocktail. To catch Rocktail you will need Living Minerals instead of fishing bait. It was once possible to lose your rod from random events, but after the 25 February 2009 updates, it is now impossible for this to happen.
