Gizmo type Weapon
Maximum rank 3

Flanking is an Invention perk. It causes certain abilities to lose their stunning ability in exchange for dealing increased damage to a target that does not face the player. It can be created in weapon gizmos. The affected abilities are Backhand, Forceful Backhand, Impact, Deep Impact, Binding Shot, and Tight Bindings.

The perk has no effect if the target faces the player; the abilities stun as usual. The damage boost from Flanking is only applied if the player attacks from behind or the side of the target's facing direction.

Most static monsters in Runescape spawn facing south and do not change direction. For example, the shadow and smoke crystal amalgamations and pillars at Nex: Angel of Death can be flanked from the north, as can training dummies.

Flanking 3 basics are by far the best non-bleed basics. Flanking 3 thresholds are usually the third best thresholds to use.

Even when Flanking effect is applicable, the abilities still trigger Yakamaru and Solak's stunning mechanics when they are at the north-eastern pool and in phase 3, respectively.
