With all the recent discussions over AEAE and people saying sysops have more power, etc, someone (I forgot who, I'll link if I can find, but basically-it's not my idea) suggested replacing the name admins with sysops. This would be quite an undertaking, but it might help dispel these feelings. Maybe it's a waste of time, I don't know, but I thought it was a pretty good idea, and thus I'm suggesting it.
One other thing (It is refered to as sysop by the cofounder of wikia, so to me it makes sense to be consistent with that.)

Oppose - First of all, there is no "official name" for them..some people call them admins and some call them sysops. And second of all, the name change doesn't change a thing..people still know they have the same abilities, and you even referred to them as sysops when you said they have a lot of power. Oppose - For semi-experienced editors, they're synonyms for each other and the occasional slip-in of sysop is fine. But people new to the Wiki concept will have no clue in hell what a "sysop" is.
